I just bought this phone yesterday. The blackout doesn't happen when I watch a video on the phone.
There is no problem with the tak tak sound when it rings with the vibration.
It is a very good phone. Small and handy. Stainless steel phone that doesn't look like a toy with all the plastics these days.

baough it yesterday and took it back, screen goes off in about 5 sec. which is very anoying.dont buy it unless you can handle that problem.

I'm from Hong Kong & just got the 6600i Slide a week ago but i found that if the vibrator works with some ringtone i.e. nokia tune some strange sounds (like "tak,tak...") appeared. Then I went to the local Nokia repair centre but they suggested that it also happened to their demo phone. Now they can only try to replace a new motherbroad to see if the problem could be fixed (but no guarantee...!)
I would like to know if the similar situation happened in other area or only the log in HK

I bought nokia 6600i slide yesterday and I would definetly NOT RECOMMEND this phone to anyone.The phone goes blackout in few seconds(5 seconds)while in use.So when you are typing a msg or downloading from PC it becomes problematic.They have a power saver option for namesake which doesn't work.Did not expect this type of faulty product from Nokia.

My menu button broke today, I've been taking the battery out, swapping sim cards, and baisically anything I can think of, still nothing. My call and end call button works, as does the number pad, its just my navigation and menu keys that appear to be the problem. I'm just wondering if theres any possible quick fix or if anyone else has experienced this problem?
