louder volume = louder power consumption.

But yup, since it's a business phone it is designed for an office environment.

N series phones on the other hand are for more livelier places but won't last you very long.

Ah the world of business.. ^_^

but we need a disassembly video to confirm. ^_^

Earlier somebody said that the RF antenna is placed in an awkward area...the bottom of the phone...I will quite agree that the antenna is in an unusual spot but I guess that was to keep down the SAR as many people complained about the SAR in E51...even though I don't have a problem with it...anymore.

E51-1 SAR: 1.40
E52-2 SAR: 1.47

E52-1 SAR: 1.23
E52-2 SAR: 1.20

It's funny how Nokia make the ringing volume of business phones lower than that of their multimedia counterparts, for example N series.

You would expect a business phone to ring very loudly as business is crucial and nobody wants to miss a call where business is concerned.

I think its a great phone. Has been with me over a month & works really good. The reception is great wi-fi is great, very fast, the keypad is excellent & still so much lightweight.
Somethings I don't like/ miss are
-The joystick as in e50.
- The ringing volume is quite low. For people working in a noisy environment, it is quite a problem. Some people say maybe because its an office phone. I think the ringing volume bars can be reduced if one wants a low volume. but why change what used to be provided in earlier E series phones.

My experience with the phone is two weeks.

What I don't like:
- poor reception; compared to my Nokia 6120 classic, E52 has 2-3 bars less
- erratic reception; it seems that this is due to poor hardware, and poor engineering; cover with hour hand the bottom of the phone and you will see that the recpetion level will drop 1, 2 or 3 bars
- slow

These negative points are enough to classify this phone a failure.

There are so many users complaing about the same issues. Therefore, all the (excellent!!) reviews about this phone are false, even the one here at GSMArena.

Nokia, call the product and fix it, or give us the money back.

> In reply to Original_Jamaican @ 2009-11-22 13:53 from kiQiTRF, since you got the replacement E52 unit it has been flawless right ? I presume you are in a strong frequency area so tell me, on a daily basis average, how many signal bars does your E52 gets ? Have you upgraded to the new firmware yet ? If so what improvements have you seen ?

-------------

It's been with me for more than 3 months now. So yeah, it's good.

we have HSPA/3.5G, so it's always full. sometimes it drops a couple of bars depending on where I am.

Yes I have upgraded. The noticeable changes I think was the display is brighter and some report that certain issues like dropped calls, display problem, etc. have been fixed.

Applications are more stable, faster, etc.

I can't really comment much on the call quality since it has been good on my part.

Last time someone called me from a party, so I asked him if he could hear me clearly, said it was good, loud and clear.

He was using a sony erricson phone.

The battery is still incredible.

----------------

Goodluck to your purchase OJ, I hope you get a good one.

A great phone all the way.

> In reply to trf @ 2009-11-22 03:49 from t7xeTo TRF and friends:

I got tired of waiting for my provider to get the E52 so I called up a particular business place who sells mobile and spoke to a friend of mine there. He says I should be able to get it the first week of December and when I do I will surely give my review here.

TRF, since you got the replacement E52 unit it has been flawless right ? I presume you are in a strong frequency area so tell me, on a daily basis average, how many signal bars does your E52 gets ? Have you upgraded to the new firmware yet ? If so what improvements have you seen ?

My E51's signal strength is always high, my place of residence and area of work are strong in cellular frequency so it will be interesting to see how the E52's anntenna compares to the E51 in the same locations. I really feel the need to upgrade now...even though my E51 is working flawlessly.

Other than MUADIPH and YESMAN (thanks for sharing the signal feedback guys), anyone out there with an E51 and E52 can you please tell me how you compare the E52's signal strength in comparison to E51 ? The more people I hear from the better.

Thank you all for the inputs you have shared since the E52's release.

> In reply to muadiph @ 2009-11-22 00:14 from v0IfI'm not too sure about the signal strength issue cuz it depends on your location sometimes.

But for WLAN, This I can confirm against a 5800's WLAN strengh.

The E52 found all 8 wifi hotspots in our area where the 5800 only saw 3.

My second week with the ne Nokia E52. My overall experience is going from bad to very bad.

Poor telephony, weak signal, slow, turns off randomly. Is this a phone made of the world leading mobile phone company!!!!

I have been very much influenced by the E52 review of GSMArena. I definitely wonder where GSMArena found such an exceptional good E52, while so many user have purchased such a poor product. Definitely this should make anyone how independed may be the reviews here at GSMArena.

I wish the author of the review gives us some comment.

I suggest all people attempted by this phone to wait. Nokia should give explanations of the poor performance of this expensive phone. Is the reason of the poor software, or it is of mediocre hardware and engineering (by the way antennas are wierly placed on the bottom of the phone!)

Hello All

I have both the Nokia E51 and E52, when I tested them both side by side the E51's signal strength in both 3G and 2G were always 1 - 2 bars better. My E52 has died before the new firmware was released and am looking now to get my 3rd one! The question is, has the signal strength in 2G & 3G improved with the new firmware upgrade or not. Also I remeber the WLAN was also poor, has that improved also ?

Thanks

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-11-21 09:52 from MNx0The phone would usually last at least 15-25 hours straight of music play.

That's not normal.
