I purchased the Xiaomi Mi5 for around 40% more than it's cheap price tag. It ended up costing around $80 less than I could have got an Iphone 6S, however, I was prepared to pay it to try out this awesome and hopeful looking device..
After using the phone for a 3 weeks, I picked it up one day and it did not turn on. It would not boot, it would not take a charge, it was dead as a doornail. It was never damaged in any shape or form (water or physical). Currently off getting fixed and I am being told it could take up to a month because "no parts are available yet". Xiaomi has no parts for their own phone? Never experienced a dead phone before without doing anything to a device. Never experienced such poor customer service. Unfortunately Xiaomi are still cheap china junk pretending to be something else. I would stay clear of this device!

How's the camera of this phone ? I am a camera lover so can someone tell me which is the best budget camera phone in today's market ? I cannot afford for S7 Edge but somewhere near 400$ would be fine to suit my budget. Around 30k Indian rupees I mean.
I bought my mi5 64gb black 5 days ago.

farul, 30 Apr 2016Please reply to my problem too. Is double tap to wake is buggy in your mi 5 too? Yeah it sometimes need second chance like other phones
After 3 weeks of using Mi5 ( Using Note 4 and iPhone 5s earlier)
Great display and beautiful phone.
Responsive and near zero lag.
MIUI7 is no frills and very practical.
Excellent ergonomics is day to day handling.
No complaints on network and opvoice clarity
Heating issues persist ( not a deal breaker)
Average battery and speaker phone quality.
Good camera but not flagship . Still no regrets.
If you can afford at 25K go for it. It is a good buy.
Nice. I love these reviews. I haven't looked but as a Design Engineer (formee) I would venture to say that the reviews and test are documented and enforced routine. I hope. How else can you make comparisons? Right? Are those documents open to the public or us (your fans)? Even tho you guys don't say what's best you can at least let us see why we should take your word on anything. No? I would probably add some ingenuity to what Ya got any how. But nicely done anyways.!
himalays, 30 Apr 2016how does honor 7 price compare to mi 5 ?Same. Around Rs 25k

Played with Mi4 yesterday, for SD 801 the performance is very smooth, menu's / option's are great. MIUI is great (no glitches, no lag).

Go to a mobile shop (that has working handsets) and view the menu's / option's on iphone, samsung s6 and s7, huawei P8 and G8, Mi4 and Mi5. Speak to friends / family / people in your city that have Mi5 and decide for yourself.
