I bought mix 6GB from china local market and using in Saudi Arabia. it is an awsome phone but got few serious issues and it need quick fix by xiaomi.
-most of the time daily, it stops receiving calls even it shows 4g network but offline to caller and after restart it start working for few hours. then i tried many things finally I set it on 3G network only instead of 4G and turned off VoLTE function. now i have not experienced same issue from last 3 days.
-call voice from screen is very poor need some improvement.
-slow start, 3rd party clocks does not update with system.
-video does not rotate if I rotate it in video calling messengers. like tango, imo, justalk, skype, etc.
Hoping these problems will be fixed sharply specially first one.
Finally got Google contacts SYNCING ... Under installed apps I set every permission on every Google app to allow... I then installed Google Contacts sync 6.0.1 (not the latest) and finally it showed contacts under my Google account...
NOTE TO XIAOMI... your boot up screen says powered by Google... I know this is a Chinese ROM phone but it REALLY SHOULDN'T BE THIS HARD TO GET GOOGLE APPS AND CONTACTS WORKING!!!
I used the one touch Google installer app to get my play store and everything else google on the Mi Mix... HOWEVER... i still cant get my contacts to sync across... i have installed the latest Google Contacts Sync 7.1.1 and resynced the google account with no luck... any ideas?
My Mix 256GB turned up today so i have had 4-5 hours to play with it. Previously had a GN7.
Initial thoughts are.
- WOW that screen is amazing. Sure it's not AMOLED (blacks aren't as nice but whites are better) and its only 1080x2040 but the size is simply great. The resolution difference to the GN4 is so tiny it's hardly noticeable.
- Build quality is simply first rate as are the looks but the edges are slippery. The leather case that comes with it looks and feels great.
- Setup is a little painful. Even after you select English at the start you still get plenty of Chinese characters until you can install play store and a normal keyboard.
- Installing google apps, play store is a process. As soon as you select English the OS should give you the option to install google apps as standard. Still haven't got contacts coming through yet.
- performance and battery life are first rate. Charging from 20-80% took about 1 hour... its a big battery
- The camera is nothing flash which is the biggest downside.
- The whole OS and appearance isn't as good as iOS or Samsung but its pretty polished.
- I think i still prefer a front fingerprint reader but maybe i will get used to it.
- The ear speaker is better than some of the on-line reviews made out.
Will give a more detailed post after i have used it a bit.
My dearest.Amazing and incredibly awesome!!!?83.6% is a record in smartdevice history!!!After a profound research,I will write a short review in which I need some questions to be answered by Xiaomi as just as merely knowledge sharing or with anyone else interested in factwriting belief! Perfect design but 6.4" is phablet not phone.
I hope xiaomi makes 5" phone in same design.
Screen might be 720p for long battery life.
Cayhanaydin, 12 Dec 2016Ahhh ahh. Where is the infrared port, Fm Radio and gorilla glas 4. Finger finger alll finger shadowPlus, not waterproof and no front-facing stereo speakers — lol, as if any of that matters to me! I'm thinking to just splurge and get the pro version as my Christmas gift this year. I love this phone! :-)
This is my type of phones. So big screen and so compatible phone. This phone is much smaller than Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, witch also have 6.4 inches screen.

Would have been nice to have a better camera but the 6.4 inch screen (and 256GB) in the body of a 5.5" iPhone won out at the end. Previous phone was a Note 7,currently on a Note 4 so it will be interesting.

I wanna know if the 4g lte is really affected or not quite affected. I have never owned a flagship, but pretty sure my phones were top in the mid tier segment. I am fine with an ok camera, more concerned about overall features/functions, battery, and software.
So i took the plunge and got the 256GB/6GB Mi Mix.
The body size is basically the same as the 5.7" V20 and 5.5" iphone plus.
The downside of moderate camera is well and truly out weighed by the screen size and massive battery life.
Hopefully its here before xmas... will let you know what i think.
The GN7 had an awesome camera but I am more excited about getting this device tbh.
Anyone using the Mi Mix on Telstra in Australia? Any problems or comments?
Amazing looking device / design.
Down sides seem to be... average camera, poor speaker for hearing calls, average screen in sunlight, slippery / thump prints... still tossing up if i should get it just for the screen.
falshaikh, 17 Dec 2016No check here... http://willmyphonework.net/This saddens me. Nearly all phones from china, doesn't matter the brand (except for one plus) usually don't support 4g lte in the usa. And phones such as this one and a few other actually catch my interest. But I won't buy it because it wouldn't work to its full potential.
