Anonymous, 19 Jun 2017Does PH-1 support dual SIM?No. It is single SIM
oneplus 5 is just a chineese phone. I will buy the essential instead!
ADc, 01 Jun 2017It would be nice if Essential Phone comes to Malaysia as well. I mean, it's freakin' titanium!... moreDon't worry about that dude, you only have to wait a little bit longer for the international release and you'll be good to go! :D
Many of us are hardware whores, that live in fear of Android version obscurity. (OP2).
Many who think they like the phone, will hate the carrier. (remember WiMax, a predecessor to Fi)
The phone is quite small than many 5.1 inch phones around. Can't expect a 3500mAh battery in this.

@Camera blocking the display: Look at the ratio, it's 19:10. Regular 16:9 content will be visible full screen and the regions left and right of the camera will be a) empty or b) contain the notification area. In normal mode the regions will definitely show notifications, clock, battery level etc. If you look at your phone, there will hardly ever be somthing in the middle of the notification area.
If only they had put a notification LED in that camera space, then the phone would be perfect :(
Has anyone noticed what it had, rather than what it is missing?
It has 60ghz wireless. It has more frequency bands than I have seen in one place before.
It reminds me of the Saygus V2. Only the V2 had a removable battery and headphone jack. And, yeah, it was vaporware.
Cupidus, 08 Jun 2017What essential feature is missing here? It can make calls, send sms, access internet, run apps... moreMain differentiator from other android (excluding gimmicky bezel less innovation). That is missing. It just an android phone made by the creator of android. He tweaked it a little and we assumed it 'special'.
What essential feature is missing here? It can make calls, send sms, access internet, run apps. So... What else is essential?
Norpan, 05 Jun 2017What's the deal with 3,5 mm head phone jack everybody is bitching about? Use the adapter or bu... moreBecause its a feature that is simply being removed with no good justification in most cases. "Use an adapter" or "buy different accessories" are extremely lame excuses...That USB port would still be there with a 3.5mm jack, Bluetooth would still be there with a 3.5mm jack. If size is a problem, then brainstorm a 3.5mm replacement that's narrower...or use one of the smaller form factors of the same port (2.5mm, 2mm, etc.) The problem that resides in the adapters is the DACs are usually garbage in them, and they don't reproduce sound well...AND block your ability to charge while listening...
Keep defending the swindle...lol
With that Front camera right over the display, isn't it going to be covering the screen? Full screen apps like games or movies will probably need to be sized down, which wont look good. Other than this and a few other shortcomings, its a really good device.
Obviously it is essentially overpriced. Oneplus 5 which is 30% cheaper would be a better buy.
islandmobile, 07 Jun 2017Maybe you're ignorant of the build materials being used here. Titanium frame. Ceramic back. No... moreScreens crack. Bezels don't. I personally like small bezels, but I get the point about small bezels look fragile though. Never thought about that before.
AnonD-125478, 30 May 2017I dont know what to say...but every bezelless phone look so fragile for me.Maybe you're ignorant of the build materials being used here. Titanium frame. Ceramic back. Not to mention Gorilla Glass 5. Do these sound like fragile materials to you?
