AnonD-694650, 02 Apr 2018can someone tell me, is it dual sim and after oreo, what is the picture quality now?Not dual sim, picture quality is good and on par with other phones if using a gcam port (plenty available online) with the latest gcam port the front facing camera quality is outstanding, definely better than the rear one, if you're into selfies.

I know the company had to release a patch that fixed an issue with the software, I'm hoping that it resolved the problems. The camera and photo quality are major aspects of importance for me, any information you could provide would be really helpful. Thank you.

Only ridiculous $930 Samsung and $1030 iPhone phones deserve review .
hero, 03 Mar 2018All these great features and then..... You cant offer image stabilization? jeezHoping that can Ben fixed with a software patch, but your right.
I'm using this device now. As a simple guy , i really liked this phone.
+ amazing screen , attractive design , powerful performance.
- battery could be good , no special features at all , unfortunately bad camera.
I had the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe before the Essential PH-1 and I have to say I am very surprised! It has only 4 Gbs ram, and the Asus had 6 Gbs ram, but it runs so smooth! I will be a customer for life now with this Essential phone! Keep up the great work!
George , 18 Jan 2018Bought this phone about a month ago and I love it. The best phone I've owned so far. Before ... moreI'm trying to know opinions about Essential PH-1 and will be helpfull if every review tells what phones you used before the one you are rating.
I have had this phone for a week now and all I can say is that this is a truly great phone and a great value to boot. The design is flawless, smooth, easy to hold and a great full screen. Excellent materials are included with this phone. Titanium, Gorilla glass and hi-tech ceramic. The picture quality is excellent. The camera is excellent and the 360 phone is something the others haven't really developed out like this one. Storage is fine, memory is fine and the way I buy phones is every 5 years, (I am not a slave to the current movement of buying every year) this makes this phone a truly amazing bargain. I purchased this phone with 360 camera attachment for 499.00 US on Amazon so its their model with Aleza built in. It all works beautifully on Oreo 8.1 which loaded after install in an hour combined. I will buy another for my wife and we will still cheaper in price than some deals for the new Galaxies. It works on any carrier so we can move about freely. It meets our needs. I couldn't be happier.
lue to me means more money in my pocket. This phone was a no brainer for me.
All these great features and then.....

Seahorse, 23 Feb 2018Here are the reasons not to buy a smartphone like the Essential which does not have a 3.5mm ja... moreI also hate phone manufacturers removing headphone jack since it doesn't make phones any better at all, the meaningless change.
But the case of Essential is still excusable because they explained: they wish it could but cannot accommodate extra parts due to space limitation. In fact even the sim tray had to go to the bottom on this phone.
Here are the reasons not to buy a smartphone like the Essential which does not have a 3.5mm jack:
1. Wireless earphones are expensive, have mediocre audio quality and batteries that requires regular charging or replacement.
2. The USB-C earphone that is supplied with will only work with the phone and not other devices.
3. When using a USB-C earphone, you cannot listen to music and charge the phone's battery at the same time.
5. If you want to use an earphone that requires a standard 3.5mm jack, you will have to use an adapter. It is inconvenient to carry around and easily lost. They are not standard items that you can just go into a shop to get. You will have to buy one from the same manufacturer, probably with delay and at a steep price.
6. You can wear out the USB-C socket by continually plugging and unplugging the earphone.
7. If you play games on your phone in landscape mode with personal audio, the USB-C earphone will get in the way of your fingers.
After all that, there is not a single advantage in a phone without a 3.5mm jack, either in sound quality or space saving despite manufacturer's claims. The only reason seems to be in aping the iPhone and being thought cutting edge.
