i have just updated to kitkat 4.42
many thanks to Acer
Please do not waste your money on an Acer tablet. Within 3 weeks the cameras stopped working and support was not offered except at great expense to me. After 9 months the 3G SIM was rejected. I managed to fix this myself. Now the SD card is not being recognised. I will never buy an ACER produce ever again.

Kitkat updated. Quite happy with the updates but really too a long time to do so. Mine already 11 months. Warranty expire soon. So far sent to service centre once as the camera is not working. Basically some apps even though can be install but not functioning. I thought after update will solve the problem but it didn't. Anyway, the tablet is still quite ok for email/ chatting , video/movies , playing most of the games etc
kitkat update 4.4.2 has rolled out!!! check it!!q
AnonD-119564, 14 Jun 2014Good day team Acer. A'm using 811 for over 5months already and no complaints. Will their be a... moreKitkat's out now :)
Currently installing Kitkat :)
Shame that the update came when this thing's nearly broken. Seems I've dropped it one too many times. Screen goes crazy and SD card keeps popping out of the slot.
On to my real review. It's not exactly the best tablet in its size or price range but it's not the worst one either. It's been exactly 9 months and 7 days since I bought it and considering the abuse it has gone through (dropping it almost everyday, even on wet ground), I consider it a miracle that this thing's still alive. The screen resolution isn't great but I can still use it to read ebooks (my eyes aren't that bad though so those who have really bad eyesight may want to consider something with better resolution and pixel density). The battery life is much better than the 2012 Nexus 7 (based on my observation). It's probably the best thing about this tablet. For the budget conscious, it's pretty cheap too (for a fairly known brand). As for speed, average, I guess. It runs on a quad-core mediatek with 1 GB RAM. Apps run pretty smoothly (Cytus lags sometimes, not sure if it's the processor being slow or the tablet protesting the abuse I make it go through) but there are certainly much faster tablets in the market.
Today arrived at KitKat 4.4.2 update finally :)
