As per the specification, stated that this is not gsm device. But this is an GSM device, since i have confirmed with the ACER technincal team. U can take this device for 28000 and u play video upto 5 hours as compare to samsung tab..it gives upto only one hour. I opt for yes to take any of ACER ICONIA device
Picked mine up about a week ago. I've been using Windows mobile products for about 7 years and have pretty much stuck with them when possible. I even bought a Lenevo S10-3T because it gave me a tablet working with Windows 7. That was a bit of a mistake because Win hasnt really come up with anything very touch friendly. So I thought I would give android a try and waited until 3.0 was out so I had something that was built for tablets rather than just a mobile system that has been tweeked a bit.
Hoestly I was a bit sceptical going in as I have been a little critical of Android. I'll be the first to admit I was wrong.... The A500 works great, it connected smoothly with my wifi, I was able to transfer docs, music and photos without hassle. The only problem I have had is that there are quite a few apps that will not load because of the location not the device. I love the usb slot, even managed to add a keyboard as I'm still getting used to typing on screen.
Overall I would give the machine high marks for build and usability. It is not something that I would replace my laptop with, but for travelling and carrying around it fits the bill.
I would have no problems recommending this machine to anyone in the market for a tablet. Letting a buddy play with it for a few minutes even convinced him to go out and get one as well.
Anybody can help me? my a500 i just install a papago x5, but cant use, even cant open also... just keeping pop back to the main page.... anybody help? what kind of gps should i use? let me know thanks
Just wondering about glass, is it a gorilla glass or any scratch resistant glass? Anyone know?
Rutul, 22 Apr 2011Hi I bought Acer iconia a500 tablet performance is very good, I am looking for
Accessories f... morecan you tell me about battery backup? also does the usb support external drives like HDD??
i am really confused what should i buy- ipad2 or honeycomb tablet.
If you bought a newly released product, don't expect that accessories are already available for it. The product has to come out first before manufacturers decide if it's viable to produce accessories for it. The Iconia was just release this week in Australia.
Jodiac, 10 Apr 2011It says it has usb 2.0 ports. Does mean I can plug in any usb 2 pendrive and go through it?Yes, you can plug in a thumb drive

Too expensive $800(NZD) for just wifi version. If companies want to capture or break Apple's market they will have to give more features at reasonable prices. Acer needs to give 3G version of Iconia at $650(NZD) and without 3G at $550(NZD). They are not a huge/branded company like Apple that command high premium. Low price is the key to penetrate market.
