I have the Liquid and I love it. Although you should know that on the Asian version the battery lasts MUCH longer and it comes with 5 desktops instead of 3 compared to the EU/USA version. I do wish that it came with Eclair instead of Donut though.
Now Acer announces Liquid E with Eclair which is basically the Liquid with Eclair, no other upgrades so it wants to makes us buy the new phone. I'm pretty sure all those who were hoping for a software upgrade on the Liquid and everyone who has a liquid is pretty much pisses at Acer right now.
Why couldn't the Liquid not handle more apps? Even if the processor reached its maximum, it could be opened to reach full 1 Ghz, right?
Information available today is that Android 2.x upgrade is possible to come in March.
no friends this phone cannot be upgraded to 2.1
coz the company are not willing to provide as the hardware is not up to mark. and it cannot handle more apps.
all my computers are acer, and i'd probably go with them for a phone, but compared to this motorola rules.
avinash jagnani, 04 Feb 2010can this phone be upgraded to android vs 2.0 or 2.1???????It's being upgraded in march they say, unofficially of course.
I'm hoping for an upgrade asap, want to buy this phone =D
A review. REVIEW. GSMARENA a review would be awesome pretty please with cherries on top. Acer are already top pc and laptop manufacturers, would be great to see a review on ths phone. PLEASE. Gsmarena reviews are precise and detailed. The only phone that stands out to me is Motorola Droid. And already ordered but ths phone looks great too.
Anonymous, 30 Jan 2010first class phone and yet there's even no radio. stupid!!Can we leave the 20th century already? Get an HD radio so you don't have to have a FM radio
I finally bought the Acer Liquid. It is a wonderful phone. Beautiful screen. On/off switch on the opposite side of the volume buttons, so switching the device off means in most cases changing the ringer volume as well. Shape of the phone make it hard to press the camera button. Battery live is a drama. Less than 24 hours even without making calls. However this does not mean that it is a bad phone, software is great and browsing the internet is super. It is fast compared to the htc g1. On screen keyboard works fine. And fortunately they did not change the Android interface.
When can we expect a review from GSMArena about this phone?
I'm very interested in Liquid, but would like to know a bit more about the device, i.e. battery life and texting =)
its not like fairy liquid, it doesnt make my hands nice and soft. Im dissapointed i threw it in with the plates and nothing happened. although the phone was plugged in at the time and all my lights went off!
there were not even any bubbles....
Acer liquid is a good phone. It's fast and offers good talk quality. Battery is ok for a full day. It's value for money. 8.5 out of 10.
jdekeij, 31 Dec 2009What a beauty, it is eye catching. But is it really draining the battery in a day? I currently... moreGet the Nexus one way better choice! Better version of OS, faster 1ghz cpu, more ram, thinner slicker fast.. 2 words The best!.... I personally use it.. I have played with all the android phones from g1, mytouch, droid, galaxy, hero.. Nexus one is the best Android phone so far!
I am now the proud owner of this phone. I love it. The startup is quick, and you are then led to the main screen. It is the basic Android screen, with the only difference being the acer settings icon.
The phone is Very fast and the applications run instantly. The battery life is short, but not quite as bad as the reviews I have read. The battery seems to be ok for 24 hours of normal phone usage, with low internet usage.
The internet seems to work fine on 3G, but in the UK this can be expensive. Come on operators, give us more allowance so we can browse the web on the move without breaking the bank.
Back to the phone. When you use the internet on WiFi, the phone really comes to life. I can browse the web on this faster than on my Eeepc. Not suprising really as the processor in the Liquid is FASTER. That coupled with the fact that you don't have windows dragging it down and you have a replacement for your netbook.
The onscreen keyboard is a little fiddly, and takes some getting used to. It tends to be a little easier in landscape mode. The switch between Portrait and landscape is not instant, but darn close.
The camera is 5MP, and Acer have spent out on some decent optics. It takes great photos. The problem is there is no flash.
the casing of the phone feels a bit cheap and plasticy, but looks very nice. It is a bit thicker than other phones on the market, but I like that. Feels more substantial.
I love this phone. I cannot compare it to others as I have no experiance of using them, but I would think you would have to go a fair way to beat this.
