The Acer E700 Trio will surprise you after using it for a while. Design and materials are mediocre, but what can you expect from a 200 EURO phone. Nevertheless, I prefer the poly carbonate materials the phone is made of on any plastic design around. The back of the phone has a very slight squeak but it is acceptable. All 3 sim cards are stand by and you have a pretty comprehensive menu to use the 3 sims both on voice and data. Voice quality is excellent and the earpiece and speaker deliver a smooth experience.
Battery life is excellent and for a normal user the 3500 battery will take you through the day. The battery is non detachable and will charge from 0% to 50% in 50 minutes and fully charged in 110 minutes.
The display is crisp and vivid and will give you a good video experience. The sound comes facing from one slot where Acer claims houses 2 speakers for a stereo effect I could not confirm it despite trying the numerous settings available including the DTS and equalizers settings. To sum up the sound issue the sound is loud but not as superb as on the HTC One, but acceptable. The quad core processor used work fluently and only when over tasked the phone will warm up to an acceptable level. Browsing both the menus and the web is excellent and one thing to note is the 2 GB memory handling of the phone which contributes to this swift experience. Never did I find the memory level available showing less then 60%. The phone has a normal 16GB overall memory and the system software occupying less then 3GB so you get nearly Android stock experience. The phone has a SD card extension where Acer claims that up to 32 GB can be used. I attached a 64GB card, fully loaded,it worked without any issues. My only harsh criticism of this phone are the capacitive buttons, which surprisingly are not illuminated thus causing the user difficulties during low light levels. I can not understand Acer for their decision and I hope they will rectify this issue with an update. Summing up my experience I can fully state that the phone has its virtues for the business traveler and both for the day to day user offerinf a solid package both on the hardware aswell as on the software side.
