alcatel 1 revealed with even lower-end specs than the 1x, Android Oreo (Go Edition) still on board

alcatel Android

The lowest-end member of alcatel's roster is no longer the 1x, for today the alcatel 1 has surfaced over in Russia. It's still unclear when it will be launched or how much it will cost, but do expect it to be even cheaper than the €100 1x.

Like that model, it runs Android Oreo (Go Edition), which is very good considering the lowly specs at play. The alcatel 1 comes with a 5-inch 480x960 18:9 touchscreen, a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera (neither with autofocus), and a 2,000 mAh battery.

It's powered by the MediaTek MT6739 SoC, which has a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU. You get just 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage, which you should find barely workable with the special Go apps suite that takes up less space than you'd expect.

The phone has LTE connectivity, although only up to Cat.4 (150Mbps down, 50Mbps up), GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and dual-SIM functionality. Its dimensions are 137.6 x 65.7 x 9.8 mm and it weighs 134g. The alcatel 1 will be available in gold, blue, and black.
