Alcatel Idol 5S surfaces at Geekbench

Alcatel Android

TCL is currently owning both Alcatel and BlackBerry and we expect to see many new devices - both the DTEK70 with QWERTY keyboard that we showed you in January and some Alcatel ones.

The latest leak from Geekbench confirms the rumor that Alcatel is going to reveal a flagship device of its own and its name is Idol 5S.

As we see from the screenshot, the Idol 5S will have octa-core Helio P20 SoC, clocked at 1.69 GHz. The RAM is 3GB and the operating system is Android 7.0 Nougat. We expect the device to have only one camera since the current Helio P-series do not support dual-camera sensors. We will be at MWC so we’ll inform you right away when there is more info about the device.

Thanks for the tip, Renе!

A flagship device with Helio P chipset? Even Helio X are considered upper midrange, this can only be considered lower midrange...

Mediatek is a let down but what about the RAM? 3gb was disappointing last year for a $400 phone. This thing better be more like $250 (and I still wouldn't buy it over the G5 plus)
