ive been using this phone for a while now and have one word to comment it,ASTONISHING..
with a size like this and a feather weight you can hardly feel it it your tightest pocket 50 voice recognized names and a powerful vibrator ;)
the only 2 things that really suck in it are the stupid strange ring tones which sounds like a classic radio and are quite low the other downflow is the weakly illuminated keypad where you could hardly see the letters in lighted conditions also the keys arnt equally illuminated some are bright the others are not,confusing.
overall an exellent phone ive been using it after an ericsson,nokia,samsung,sony and this one beats them all.

Hy. I have some questions for those who have the 512. At the meintenence menu, Charge Ctrl (000000*) I have the following info (i'll separate the lines with /) : RE 000 / 00000 000 / 4,16 / ---- ---- 00 / 00 LiP1 0000 / 092 0000 / 4,15. Is this the info your mobiles have too?
Another question is about the Zoom function : do you have it? I looked all over for it and coudn't find it.
Overall a very good phone. Good work Alcatel!

Nokia being the best is absolute bullshit. The 512 & 511 are more predictive in SMS writing than a T9 enhanced phone...People are just too lazy to learn the features...as for the slow phone book loading ..please go to ur dealer and update the software....ring tones are not too attractive but the voice receiption and heard on the other side r better than Nokia, and Ericsson, and Sony 6510 included...Antennae manages to hold calls in low reeption areas where the Nokia falters...Please I have used all the above brands and find the Alcatel a good compromise no nonsense phone for the price....u need a nokia costing .5 to 1.1 times more to get the same features..Only slightly fragile casing is a problem easily dented and scratched....

just bought my 512 here in Belgium for 159 €uro. Excellent price for fantastic mobile phone. and 'morpheus'...YES it does ring and vibrate at the same time...better check your settings again.
For this price I say BUY IT !

ALCATEL SUCKS A LOT !!!!!
It's phones can't vibrate and ring at same time (why, oh why??), and it's software is so slow that it's faster to go to the closest store and buy a real mobile phone (Nokia, Siemens or SonyEricsson)
