TTThunder, 01 Aug 2009Hi, Could anyone help advise? When I turn on S853, it cannot detect the memory card. ... moreYou really have to reset it but be sure to make back up of your data before resetting it. Bringing your unit to alcatel service center is also a good idea but still you should back up your data because alcatel will surely reload it with another firmware.
Could anyone help advise?
When I turn on S853, it cannot detect the memory card.
(I used to have this problem when I tried to use 1GB card (microSD in miniSD adapter). I have to turn off, take the 1GB card out, put miniSD 512MB in, turn on, it will always be able to detect the memory card. Then if I reverse the process, it may (not 100%) be able to detect the 1GB now...)
This happens with 512MB miniSD card (which never happens before), I tried changing other cards, it still fails. Turning off and on many times still fails...
I am thinking about resetting to factory default, will it help? (I do not want to do this since I will lose the data in it.)
Or do I need to go to Alcatel repair center?
Or it just ran out of life? (I have used it for less than 2.5 years...)
Thank you very much,
the memory card might be broken too, it happens, try a different card.

keenen, 17 Jul 2009wow my phone cannot detect the memory card mini sd. the technician told me he will fix it for ... moreTry to reset your phone again then have your memory card virus scanned. Also, take out any items from your memory card that is not supported by the phone like .wav files, etc.
keenen, 17 Jul 2009wow my phone cannot detect the memory card mini sd. the technician told me he will fix it for ... moreAs far as I am concern, the only way to fix that problem is to check the contents of the memory card. This model is not like any other alcatel model like OT S686 where its performance cannot be affected by the unsupported items (like .pdf, .rar, .wav, etc.) you have loaded into your memory card. Just try to avoid loading unsupported format into your memory card and have your memory card scanned for any possible viruses.
wow my phone cannot detect the memory card mini sd. the technician told me he will fix it for P400.00... omg, is there another way to fix this?
