Rx, 07 Aug 2018I uninstalled some apps including the antivirus apps and did a hard reset and now its very snappyur l;ikes should not use such piece of nicelyness, u should be using q or samsung
I bought it in summer of 2017. Before, I had samsung galaxy s3 neo, so I mainly compare my alcatel with s3 neo. All in all, I like pop4s very much - it's stable, good phone, but 1) it has some flaws 2) you have to know how to treat it.
The main flaws are that camera quality is way lower than what samsung had - pop4s is very weak in low light environment, the colors of photos and videos are quite crappy, so don't use this phone if you are into photography.
It has built in some cool sound system, i think, its jbl speakers. So it has quite loud sound, you don't need additional speakers. But - even at the lowest possible sound it may be too loud.
Also, it can become quite a battery consuming in time - to cure that, you have to save all your data and reset to factory settings.
What i really like about this phone is design, big screen, durable battery and it's power - all for 130 euro.
iMazz, 29 May 2018if only TCL gave this phone a nougat 7.0 update.. sucks that you can't even root thisTCL/Alcatel is probably the worst company giving updates to their phones! Too bad they don't give a shit because some of their phones are really good and cheap like Pop 4S :)

The audio quality when using Bluetooth is really terrible, tinny and lacking bass frequencies.
If you listen to music using Bluetooth avoid this phone.

I have this device it has been a year.
It is a very laggy phone, with many pre-installed apps from alcatel, which makes the device always with more than 1.3 gb used Ram , and those apps cannot be uninstalled without firstly root the device whose i could not yet find a way to do it.
The fingerprint is very responsive...
And the battery has been so far very good
the phone is very laggy after a week or two. notifications ALWAYS popping up for the built in apps(i had to disable most apps).do not buy unless for a temporary phone

the phones stock launcher is very laggy, install Microsoft launcher from play store.
also if only tcl gave an update to 7.0 that would be great
I purchased the phone from Amazon (UK), and I am using the phone for few months... keep in mind the RAM memory, the phone comes with too many pre-installed applications by Alcatel which consume memory and cannot be removed! Hence, 2GB RAM but all together bring you to start with 1.2GB consumed already, with 600MB consumed by marketing/sales departments only (comparing with my previous phone). After installing your own app's - you may run on low RAM memory available.
This phone is pretty bad. Slow to respond and has problems multi-tasking (lags). Recently, Alcatel just decided to install a very bloaty File Manager and Launcher App since Google ended theirs, and they can't be uninstalled or swapped for another. This goes double because no rooting option (flash, one click, etc) currently works on this model either, and the phone isn't truly unlocked as was advertised by Best Buy, just for use with different carriers. The now installed File Manager and it's accompanying list of boost, clean-up, and anti-virus programs (irony), which can't be turned off, just drain your battery away. A battery that is bolted to the chassis, so it's not swapable. On top of this, they are notification hogs, and are constantly nagging you about file space, and time to run antivirus, so on. So, you have to install a notification blocker just to shut it up, but, get this, the file manager notification block can't even be turned off by the blocker. So, you're stuck with a random paint brush and one notification that just sits there, unable to be removed. It's become a nightmare and has been extreamly sluggish after this update. Performs in no way like an 8 core, or 4 core for that matter. Do not buy this phone. I wouldn't reccomend any Alcatel after this experience with their software either.
