ok folks,
1st and foremost this is a tablet. but what you DO with it makes it FLY!
you can download about 3 little programs which allow it to go to & use google play apps. so options expanded there!.
i can't recall but google hangouts and the hangouts dialer can be downloaded from googleplay store & via google voice, you CAN use it as a phone in wifi range. THAT makes this a phone still free calls via the 2 above apps . so it CAN be used as a "phone"
if your REALLY feeling froggy you can "flash the rom" though it's not for the faint of heart because you can brick the device and make it a very sleek pretty paperweight. fair warning!
the hardware is there and frankly i like the amazon kindle fires interface. for the price? you'd be hard pressed to find a tablet AS good as the kindle fire HD 8!
buy one on sale even and go have fun!! people taking crap to seriously..ENJOY the device!!

I really like amazon's product 😀 all i dislike about it are: non-cellular connection,low storage and no sd card slot 😔
