AMD announces Vega Frontier Edition pricing and availability

AMD Desktop hardware

AMD's hotly anticipated series of graphics cards based on the new Vega architecture was first announced back in May without a price or a clear launch date in sight. However, AMD has now cleared the confusion and provided all the missing details.

The two cards that will be launched first are the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition, with air cooling, and a variant of the same card with liquid cooling. The air cooled model will be priced at $999, and the liquid cooled model will set you back $1500. The air cooled version is available today and the liquid cooled version will be available in Q3.

This is, of course, not your mainstream graphics card and is meant to compete against the NVIDIA Titan Xp. In fact, AMD doesn't even talk about gaming with these cards; they have been designed primarily for computing applications, such as game development, VR development, machine learning development, video encoding, 3D rendering, and other fields like science and medicine that could use the massive floating point performance. That's not to say that they can't be used for gaming, just that it would be somewhat of a waste of potential and money. Not to mention, AMD is coming up with more Vega-based graphics cards for consumers later this year.

A few exclusives, full controller support on all games. They aren't useless.

I didn't read your comment but I do my research more then average person. It was the best thing I could find at that time, but every part failed in it and I just don't trust AMD anymore. That's no ignorance and intel with NVidia have never failed me ...
