Samsung Android Firmware Updates

The update to Android 9 Pie for Samsung's Galaxy S9 and S9+ has been out in some regions for a while now, and today it's making its official debut in the US. While units sold unlocked, as well as those purchased from the 'big four' carriers are still left waiting, hopefully they will be getting it within the next few days or weeks.

In the meantime, if you bought your S9 or S9+ from Comcast's Xfinity Mobile network, you're in for a treat, as the updates are now rolling out for these handsets.

If you haven't yet received the notification, you can manually check for the new release by going to the Software update menu in your phone's Settings app. Aside from all the goodies packed by Google in Android 9 Pie, as well as Samsung's new revamped One UI on top, you're also getting the January 2019 security patches.

That's the thing - all these updates are not bringing big changes anymore. Some buttons nicer, some colors different and couple other minor changes. At least Samsung isn't keeping stock android.
