Android powered Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50 unveiled
Today the Garmin-Asus alliance announced their next GPS navigation-centered smartphone. The nuvifone A50 runs on Android and packs reportedly some of the best location-based software seen in a smartphone to date.
Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50 features a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with HVGA resolution, 3 megapixel auto-focus camera with geotagging functionality and 3G support. GPS, Bluetooth, accelerometer sensor, 4GB internal storage and microSD card slot complete the list. It's not clear yet whether the phone will sport Wi-Fi connectivity or not.
Garmin will ship the smartphone with full navigation license including turn-by-turn voice guided navigation, pre-installed maps and digital compass. As the nuvifone A50 will run on Android it will have very tight integration with all Google service and thanks to Android Market its users will be have quick access to vast amounts of 3rd party software.
The nuvifone A50 uses the WebKit-based browser with multi-touch support, which suggests that there will be multi-touch gestures in other parts of the user interface too.
The Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50 will be shown at the MWC next week, when we expect to learn more about its target availability and pricing.

yeah its a great phone/ gps but tryin to get a cover for it its like findin a needle in a hay stack..

what about G60? i like the form factor a lot. because its all screen no useless button. but its not an android. no 3rd party application. will G60 be update to android?

I think it will be an amazing phone, smart phone will GPS features. And as per my knowledge its not only GPS, it with LBS features which is much more than simple GPS. I am eagerly waiting for it
