Samsung Touch UI Android Rumors

Well it's been some two weeks since we last heard of the Android-based Samsung I5700 Spica (which happens to be unannounced yet) and here comes a full length live preview. The video is quite worth a look or two.

While the bigger brother, Samsung I7500 Galaxy, is already available across the globe, the second Android-powered device by Samsung is still waiting its official announcement.

Despite the lack of any official info about the handset, the numerous leaked images and specs helped us get to know it quite well. The I5700 Spica is expected to pack a large 3.2" capacitive AMOLED touchscreen, which practically is the same brilliant display the I7500 Galaxy comes with. The Spica will be based on the 1.5 version of Android OS (better known as Cupcake).

Samsung I5700 Spica

As seen on the video above, no UI modifications are expected - only the plain Android user interface (and that's not necessarily a minus).

The overcrowded spec sheet of Samsung I5700 Spica (previously known as Galaxy Lite) includes - goodies like HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, built-in GPS receiver and a 3.2-megapixel snapper.

For more details on whats under the Spica hood, check out its preliminary specs.

The rumored price of around 350 euro, which sounds a lot more than the rumored Android-on-a-budget price tag. The Snapdragon-driven Acer Liquid A1 is already up for pre-order over at Expansys Spain for 380 euro, so we hope Samsung will revise their pricing. We'll have to wait for a final on that at least till November when Samsung is supposed to finally reveal the I5700 Spica.
