AnTuTu shows the Samsung Galaxy M2 will have a 1080p+ display

Samsung Android

The Samsung Galaxy M2 is starting to look better and better – specs details by AnTuTu reveal a 1,080 x 2,340px screen. That’s better than the J-series phones, which have 720p displays. The Exynos 7885 chipset is better than most J phones too.

The 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage combo was confirmed, the M2 is also supposed to have a 64GB version (it wouldn’t surprise us if that one has more RAM). The rest is as expected – we’re referring to Android 8.1 Oreo. Samsung is just now starting to update flagships to Pie, these entry-level phones will have to wait.

We say “entry-level” as the M-series is thought to take over from Galaxy On, the online-exclusive versions of J-phones. Meanwhile, the J-series will merge into the A-series. That’s a roundabout way of saying that the M-series will feature entry-level phones.

But even if it targets the mid-range, the “2” in Galaxy M2 suggests a phone with more modest specs. It seems like Samsung is gearing up for a fight with Xiaomi and the like.
