In my opinion, Windows strategy is to first take all market share from Android, whose user base has more tendency to change brand, in both smartphones and tablets.

er for the lame that's the graphics card.
my only niggle is how can they call a retina display at 264ppi. when the iphone 4 is 330ppi now thats retina display.

with the right resolution and the Quadcore cpu and gpu that the Asus prime has developers will bring Ps3 like games for Asus and other quad core android tablets.
Ipad 3:
- Outdated Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 cpu
- Thicker and heavier
- No Gorilla glass
- No 16:10 or 16:9 display
- No multitasking
- No view two aps at the same time.
The new ipod is rubbish, outdated and it will be over priced like the other ipads.

AnonD-45530, 08 Mar 2012this new ipad, is Quad-core or not, please somebody explaime that ??No, this tablet does NOT have a quad-core processor. It has the same 1GHz Dual-core Samsung-made processor that iPad 2 has.
The iPad 2 had a dual-core GPU (graphic card), and iPad 3 has the same kind of GPU, but quad-core. So the iPad 3 isn't so much more powerful than the iPad 2. It should actually not be able to produce the same amount of FPS as the iPad 2:
The iPad 2 has the same processor, but half the GPU power that iPad 3 has. But iPad 3 has 4 times more pixels, making the iPad 3 a bit less fluent and smooth as the iPad 2.

Everything will run butter smooth on the ipad. That's all that matters. Your picture will look amazing, your games will run with no sweat and the web experience as always unmatched by any. Anything else just dose not matter any more, it just works!!! What more can you ask? There is nothing to compare because there is nothing on the market that will perform like the Ipad will. Its like saying that your quad core pc is better than the ipad, nothing to compare it to at this point in time. Maybe two years from now however with android being what it is could be even longer until we can say. Yes this android machine offers you unsurpassed user experience. Until then lets enjoy this amazing tablet and hope for the competition to get even more fierce so we get even better ipads and android tablets :)

How can Apple keep that extremely outdated dual-core processor? 1Ghz, that's nothing for something that costs 499 dollars. That GPU is certainly not 4x faster than the one in Tegra 3. That's just no frickin' way.
Waiting for the benchmark results that Nvidia is going to do.
Must give them kudos for the screen though! Amazing!

The majority won't care whether or not it is powered by a faster processor.. They'll be more likely be impressed by the high display resolution, the first thing they see when they get their hands on the device. Apple knows this fact very well.

... moreApple has a history of outperforming more powerful hardware, due to their optimised software.
The display is not just slightly better, it is simply phenomenal, and will be the envy of the industry for some time to come.
Top it off with performance gains, yet maintaining the SAME battery life with LTE 4G, where other Android devices have simply failed to have even normal battery life, and you have one of the ultimate 4G devices on the market right now.
Even if I were not to get an iPad, I would not touch any garbage Android tablet, and would rather wait for a Windows tablet.

One problem with the "new" iPad is that you'll probably not be working on iPhoto with photos taken with the iPads camera. At 5 MPix today you are at the low end of pictures resolution. And I wonder how the 1944x2592 pictures will scale on the 1536x2048 screen.

This is my first tablet ! And I called it Ipad 3 no the new ipad.. (stupid official name..) anymore, i love this apple product.
