There is no way to save the data on the device. There's 3 ways to do this, and Apple has a support page for it here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204306
Follow the instructions there and hopefully all goes well for you. :)

I am using it . Its battery is amazing . RAM is bit slow . Its internal memory is 11.5 GB ( memory limit for apps ) . Back camera is just amazing . Front is not bad but not so good as well . If u have any questions about it , please ask me .

iPad 3 is fine only on some games (It's fine playing my favourite games), a bit lag sometimes but not much with iOS 9.2 and above. Still on good speed on 3G but I reckon should use this if you're okay having wifi.

I "own" a 4-5 year old iMac(mid 2010), 3 year old iPad(3 Retina) and a 3-4 year old iPhone(4S). So far i've experienced none of those "shady" marketing strategies described above, in fact, in all these years, i've only payed for a handful of apps(5-10$) -and that as a whim. Not to say that all the software and future updates came for free, for ALL my devices(including Mac).
For me, the user experience povided by Apple is far more unique elegant(minimalistic&functionality) and user friendly(ergonomic) then that provided by other manufacturers.
My advice: Try it first, don't spread rumours about an experience you didn't have.
