techcrunch "Even if you have perfect vision, indulge me here for a second. You know when you go in for an eye exam and youíre asked to look at a combination of letters and numbers on a chart against a far wall? You read the first few lines, then realize you actually canít go any further. Then you get prescribed glasses (or contacts) and you can all of a sudden read every letter and number. And even the ones you could read before are now so much clearer.
Thatís what itís like looking at the new iPad versus the older iPads.
Itís weird because I was never one of those people who thought the original iPadís and the iPad 2′s screen was poor (but there were plenty of those people in the post-iPhone Retina world). I guess itís just like a pre-glasses world ó you never realize how blurry things are because thatís just how youíve always seen everything. And then you put the glasses on and you wonder how you ever managed without them.
Once you see and use the new iPad, there will be no going back."
Excellent comment! Nicely explained
"Let me be clear: the new iPad is a huge technological leap forward. It has by far the best screen Iíve ever seen anywhere and itís something I can hold in my hand and touch and use for 10 hours at a time."

SbL, 16 Mar 2012aww .. looks the same as ipad 2.. cant they make it much more interestingApple's philosophy has always been that technology is best when invisible, hence the tendency towards minimal design. This also allows them to highlight what Apple feels is the central feature of iOS, which are the apps.
Android on the other hand highlights the hardware itself if you notice, and this is due to various manufacturers having to differentiate themselves from their competitors. Apple does not have to deal with this problem so much.
Anonymous, 17 Mar 2012u mean to say k u have to hand this slab in front of u at a perticuler distance all the time hahahaOf course not, but in general I dont hold my iPad as close as my iPhone. I hold it a bit further.
Do you hold your tablet in front of your face? Hahahaha!
i think they missed one feature..flash light..for brighter picture..(in the dark)..

simplyred62, 14 Mar 2012I'm not sure that I agree that the iPad 3 is for serious business. Like all current tablets (... moreApple created the so-called "post-PC era" with the iPad, effectively moving entertainment out of PCs and laptops onto the new generation devices called tablets.
Microsoft is the company to watch this year:
Windows 8 will hopefully marry the tablet back with the PC for "serious business use" coupled with fun-tertainment.
simplyred62, 14 Mar 2012I'm not sure that I agree that the iPad 3 is for serious business. Like all current tablets (... more1) sure it doesn't to a printer via usb but have you heard airprint... I'll give you hint it's for printing
2) iCloud is way better because you do it wirlessly
3) the iPad has hundreds of great native apps for business like Gotomeeting, the iWork suite, and Roambi
I will tell exactly what the iPad is good for... everything and anything you would portable but don't need a keyboard... I cannot say that about every Tablet too
Playing with iPad 3 now...
In a whole year these are the "advances" Apple have come up with- screen is better, camera is better but still not great, performance seems basically exactly the same bar better graphics. But it is very noticeably thicker and heavier than the previous iPad.
All in all, extremely disappointing...
If you can't get 4g access on iPad 3 in your region, I'd suggest to stick to the iPad 2 (although neither models have anything on some of the android tabs out thre now ie Transformer Prime). Why bother paying for a bulkier, heavier device which is much more uncomfortable to hold when you can get a streamlined version that will almost do exactly he same job?
I'm gonna say it again: VERY DISAPPOINTING...
Sorry Apple, but it seems like without Jobs, you guys are no longer revolutionary, no longer exciting and no longer improving. Enjoy the downhill slide from here Apple!
