yeah thats where ive been looking for all the phones (ebay.com.au) i can pick one up for 600-700$ they are all unlocked and some of the expensive ones comes with extra apps! would i be able to surf the net with a prepay sim tho? or would it have to be a contract ?
haha! true. thats why i also bought the n95-2 bec of its color and slightly BIGGER screen and 8gb memory! personally, i like the c0lor black in a ph0ne.
true, the iPhone DOES NOT have delivery conf. which is a minor gripe of mine about it. still doesnt "take away" from the experience, tho!
the iPhone ORIGINALLY was intended for at&t(usa) but now its branching out ALL OVER the world! uk, germany, france, some parts of asia iirc. i think there might even be an australian release date but d0nt quote me on that!!! lol.
it sounds like for what you already have(macbook/30gb iPod), the n95 MIGHT be a better fit for you. but in the end its still YOUR CHOICE to make! if ur thinking of getting an iPhone, eBay is your best bet cuz the "unlocked" iPhones theyre selling are pretty much 100% JAILBROKEN(3rd-party app support) which will further "enhance" your iPhone experience due to the SHEER number of available appz to be installed AT YOUR FINGERTIPS! just make sure you buy from a reputable seller and make sure to ask q's as well!!! i think maybe even ebay aus. has some... ^_^
and yes, having an "unl0cked" iPhone will make it accept ANY foreign simcard so your voda sim should work just fine.
a kick ass camera on the n95, good mp3 player with volume, gps , voice dialing, bluetooth transfer and a2dp. not found on the iphone! mp3 yes but no volume. surfer know's alot more than you !!
ive just had a thought rock!!
if i was to get the iphone.. would the internet capabilities be any use to me unless i had a contract. I am currently using a pre-pay vodafone sim. Would that cause a problem? Thanks
surfer you obviously dont know much about handsets!
the nokia n95 is no way superior to the iphone!
the iphone is unique, where as the n95 is just the same as any other handset with a poor battery life and numerous software faults!
surfer. The original n95 is the same design as the 8gb except the colour and slightly bigger screen. So is it silver you don't like. i have never found the n95 ugly, but i don't like it in black but that's just my preferance. i have a work shirt pocket where it fit's perfectly into and some of my personal shirt pocket's.
Also would there be any chance of being able to get msn on the iphone.. u can get it on the mac.. wuld it be possible to download it on the iphone?
1 more question rock..
with the iPhone, do u have to have a certain sim card for it.. Im living in australia and i have a vodafone sim card. Would i be able to work the iPhone with my vodafone card, ive heard u cant change the sim card???
Mark, if you can afford the N95 8GB buy it. The regular N95 is just ugly. Otherwise buy a iphone. Or try waiting. Nokia is going to bring or show off new models in february, in the same month the N95 8GB will get cheaper. The truth is, the N95s are fat bulky phones and it's hard to live with them. You look ridiculous when putting it into your pocket. Pictures of the N9x (i forgot the number) have already leaked (it has 5mpx and it is thinner than the N95, looks like the N81). If you ask me, it still is ugly, but it's showing that nokia is hearing us and they will soon (february) bring thinner 5mpx symbian phones. If you can't wait, and don't care about the bulky N95 8GB, buy it. The iphone is great, but you'll have to jailbrake it and you'll lose your warranty when you do it. The new firmware is nice, but the iphone has no delivery reports... It just aint a complete phone.
OTB(out of the box) v.112 are currently unHACKABLE!!! hopefully when 113 rolls out "hackers" can figure out a way how to unl0ck current otb 112's! u can get it "jailbr0ken(run 3rd party appz)" but ull need either turb0sim or stealthsim to make it w0rk wit ur simcard.
how many names do u g0t girl!?! lol. ive been meaning to ans ur post but theres just s0 many BL0CKHEADS on here that i just CANT help myself but to reply t0 their RIDICULOUS posts first!!! lol.
see my reply to mark about the diffs IVE seen/experienced using BOTH handsets(i kn0w u have an n95, right?). as far as size, the iPhone is just a tiny bit WIDER, a little bit longer(maybe half an inch?) and is about HALF as thick as the n95!
as far as functions is c0ncerned, the n95 honestly has MORE but as to what the iPhone does and CAN DO, it does it well! having an iPod, playing movies/watching youtube, internet experience is hands down THE BEST on any mobile device ive EVER SEEN!!! not to mention it gives u a FULL touchscreen experience and a FULL qwerty keyboard! ^_^
but, if u really need the "functions" wait til feb. the iPhone'll get an "external" GPS receiver which'll w0rk with its preinstalled GOOGLEMAPS application and thats gonna totally r 0 c k!!! a2dp, just buy urself an iPod bt adapter and a stereo bt headset and voila! a2dp on ur phone! ^_~ thats if, you really need it. personally, the included stereo headset + mic is good enough for me!
if u have the "installer" app, look for the sends0ng application and install it and itll let you choose ANY song from ur music lib t0 b ur ringt0ne.
I do agree with both of ur comments about the iPhone and the N95, however i own a brand new macbook, ive got a 30GB ipod that ive barely filled, do i really need an iPhone, cuz its not rele that much of a good PHONE, its more the ultimate media device.. and since ive got the other things ive mentioned i reckon id be better off with a N95. theyre the two best phones out. at the end of the day theres not much difference between them when it comes down to it.! so does it rele matter
Another thing to remember when buying a phone is the lastability factor etc. After havin my iphone a few weeks now I still find I`m always lookin at it, playing with it all the time, hardly use laptop now as I can be on a webpage on iphone within 20 secs. Usually after a couple of days with any other phone I`d be throwing it around not really caring to much cause I`m bored of it just waiting for something better to come out. Definately dont get that with the iphone
ooops! 0ne more thing i didnt like about the n95. a2dp is "flaky." wrap ur hand around the handset, and youll have a "bad" connection. hell, even if you just put it in your pocket it sometimes breaks off!
oh, and also, one more d0wnside to having an all-in-one device is that s0metimes itll "freeze" if u have too many appz open and the only way to get it back is to reboot it by removing the battery and putting it back in! small price to pay tho for having everything crammed in your pocket. lol.
Also, in a minute or sometime's less i can lock onto the satelite for gps. A2dp is also good.
yeh i noticed no lens cover.. that will pick up scratches easily.. my current phone has scratches all over the lens.. so lens cover is a must.!
how much did u pick up ur N95 for ?
The touch screen on the iphone is without question quite impressive, but it is lacking in the feature's that the n95 has. Plus there have been issue's of missed call's in loud place's. Not enough volume.
I have the first one but i have a 4gb card which it accept's even though the spec's say 2 gb. It might even take a 6gb card. The n95 8gb has more ram, which is a good thing, but the camera cover had to be taken away to make way for the better battery. plus it's black if that suit's you, and no card slot on the 8gb,all internal memory. Personally i'am happy without moving to the 8gb. Picture's when printed out are really good. gps is also good.
ah ok maybe thats it then thanks.. there are two tho.. The 8GB and the normal one, which 1 do u have ?
