plus remember. a perfect mobile can be made (technology exists), but then the cellphone market would collapse. if n95 had a touch screen 3.5' and was thinner, AND had a $150 price tag + the fun factor, then demand would go off the roof. Only it would sell , and throw others out of business. Eventually if it did so nokia would go out of business too eventually.
most of the people who are not geeks prefer a fun mobile with a 2mp camera rather than some 5mp cam mobile that is all work and no play, or some htc product. all that really techno-wise matters these days is wifi/music/decent camera. fun factor is a plus. people want this plus. Never could a phone provide as much fun as an iphone does. it is not for business users or hardcore technoheads. it is for fun loving people (with deep pockets)
Your right the iphone is`nt perfect, I would never suggest it is, but I do personally believe its raised the bar on certain elements, thus meaning phones in the future will be alot more than just the usual boring yearly same ole upgrades we see the majority of the time. As the iphone stands now it really is a cool, easy to use phone which is full of features that are all useable on a daily basis.... I can`t comment on HTC devices as ive never owned one :-) Come 2008 you can bet your bottom dollar Nokia will copy to a certain degree some of the touch screen features that are on the iphone.... if they don`t then that N95 sure is going to be of a monster thickness by 2010 ;-)
The iphone isn't small. Yes my htc tytn2 isn't small, but it has everything including video calling. At least you are someone who can admit the i phone isn't the best phone in the world. The tytn2 isn't either. No matter which model , cell phone's will alway's advance! Peace dude! I think my grammar was better this time.
the iphone is a success because it offers what the majority of people seek in mobile phones these days. THE FUN FACTOR. so if iphone is more fun that some nokia to use, then it will outsell it. simple to explain. It is plain FUN to use.
thanks nj3 I'll seriously look into it. Ps I'm picking up my black MacBook on Monday, the top spec version, can't wait. Also lisa if that's all you got to contribute, GO AWAY! LITTLE GIRL! We already been through that
I got a question for the owners. Does the iphone have sms delivery reports and how do they look like when they get into the inbox? If you've ever had an nokia then you know that a nokia reports sms messages and delivery reports with different ring tones. As I've seen the iphone user interface many times, I've also seen how the iphone gets sms messages, but I have not seen how it gets delivery reports. Do they just get between sms messages like in every other cell phone?
ok lets face it lisa and other users negative abt iphone have a point the iphone cant be used as the N95 or before SE p990 i mean in the software part on 95 and 990 there is att to detail and thats a fact and the most basic features are missing like bt file transfer, autofocus, contact book is avg as compared and etc but this mac software and the full touch 16 mill display goes a long way man this is the best looking phone+ipod EVER i mean nothing comes close nokia and se have to think hard to match that (and the touch flow on some cells coming out now is no where as good as apple) and thats a fact.so if you are into just looks and want an ipod too this is the one and if you are a power user there are other brands. but again IMO this is the best looking tech and phone ever.
iPhone is the best cellphone i ever had. u know that i used Nokia N71,N80,N93i,N95 that's all never satiffied me... but with iPhone it feels like u just find another chance in ur life
You know what I second that! I would never of looked at apple or macs in past but i can tell you now the next laptop I get will defo be a mac and well the new phones they just go without saying....
Technology has grown so much in the last few years, decades ago we has computers that filled rooms that were less powerful that a nintendo game boy, every year since computers and technology has grown so powerful and now just a fraction of the size ...... Think its about time someone told Nokia ;-)
It is a very nice cell phone if you use it to your needs. It doesn't support many email servers and isn't great for business related jobs. The iPhone is more of a phone for fun. It is nice that there are a lot more applications that can be put on it now but if you are doing a lot of business related work there are better phones for that job. Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone but there is a time for work and a time for play. I have a simple E62 just as a work phone and the iPhone as my other one. It is to bad that I use two phones to cover my needs but the iPhone is such a cool phone that I don't mind. It really just depends on what are are looking to use it for. Sure there are better phones out there but there always will be a phone better than the other. If you are looking for a very easy to use, sexy, fun and neat cell phone the iPhone is a great thing. Plus having applications that can be easily added is a nice feature as well. A lot people say it is overrated and over priced and in a way they are right and wrong but if it is what you are looking for then its perfect cell phone.
oh and people who say iphone is crap and a waste of money. Im going to buy my first macbook in jan because of the iphone. So apple can have more of my hard earn money. Apple products are class! Nj3 whats the best way to go about getting shares? I have great faith in apple now!
Guys. You can buy a bluetooth thing that will be placed at the bottom part of the iphone (usb) for stereo headset. now you can listen to music with bluetooth headset!
The iPhone outsold ALL Windows mobile devices in Q3 in north america, combined, Steve Ballmer said last January that the iPhone wouldn't get more than 2-3% marketshare, and that MS would attain 60-80% marketshare. Wrong on both fronts, dude.
this is to the comment about the spare battery in case of black out for the n95.
the battery life and talk time last 1/2 as long as any other phone on the market in the first place so your going to need that spare battery :)
the iPhone is exactly the ipod touch that can make calls and send text, so get yourself a cheap pre paid and an ipod touch and save yourself some money.
i have found nokia used to dominate but ever since the take over of ericsson by sony, the market domination of sony over the mobile market was inevitable. so go get a sony.
have a good christmas
so the dudes iPhone had a faulty antenna. GET IT REPLACED through apple with apples 1 YEAR WARRANTY program for godssakes!!!
on the other hand, there is NO warranty replacement for the n95's BELOW AVERAGE gps performance. lol.
iPhone can now SPEED DIAL, SEND MMS, INCREASE RINGER VOLUME(although this is old news), and TRANSFER FILES "wirelessly" to a mac OR to ANOTHER iPhone!
geez, what will they come up with next!?! ^_~
on the other hand, the n95's GPS function "eats" away at its already HORRIBLE battery life. tsk tsk tsk...
