I work at Carphone Warehouse in technical support and we have been playing around with the Iphones for the past few weeks. I think half the things most of you make up here are really funny.
Here are some "facts" for you.
The iPhone returns processes depends on the situation:
-If the customer fails the credit check
They can return the iPhone to us within seven working days from when they bought it.
-If the customer changes their mind
If the customer changes their mind, they can return the iPhone within seven days of buying it.
If the customer bought the iPhone from Direct Sales or online the changes their mind, they can return the iPhone within seven days from the day after receiving it.
They must not have started to use it, so they must not have made or received any calls, sent or received any texts, entered any contacts, imported any tunes, taken any photos or surfed the internet.
-If the customer’s iPhone is faulty
They can exchange or refund their iPhone if they contact us within 28 days of when they bought it.
-If the customer has activation/computer/internet problems
Customers cannot return the iPhone if they have problems activating it or if they have problem with their computer or internet. For example, if a customer's internet isn't working properly and subsequently cannot use the iPhone, they will not be able to return the iPhone. They should make sure their computer and internet are both working properly before buying the iPhone.
Okay so this is copy and pasted from the "black and white" terms and conditions from Carphone Warehouse.
This should stop some of the arguing about the returns policy.
The only stupid thing that apple did was not to make a stylus pen with this iphone. The screen gets dirty quickly.STUPID APPLE.....
Got one here with me now, brought it home as im one of our stores demo guys. It is a nice phone but after an hour of playing with it thats it. Youve seen everything in this handset. Not worth the £269 price tag and crap tariff at all! But oh well cx will still buy it.
when is the next version/model going to release...........any news..........n wht happened to 4GB. only 8GB available
iphone is not gone for sell in india yet.but i had heard that few phones with unlocked phones hace landed indian shore..but since i had on bad experience(samsung D410) of buying a phone through grey marked i resisted going for it.
and i was eagerly waiting for it to be released officially
before few days i went out in the market to buy a new Moto Razor with my brother...went to a shop..
and What the hell.. in that shop there was iphone...could not belive my eyes..
i asked the guy to show it to me..with lots of reluctance that guy took it out of the box.my heart bit started increasing.Tachycardia as he was taking it out.. i was thinking..finally we meet.
the phone came out..but hey..what the hell..
it looked like a chunk of brick..i told my self.. ok ok.its not a looker.(its not Deepika Padukonde)that i thought lets hold it and see it..man as soon as i hold it in my hand...it looked like a brick of mud but when i hold it in my trumbling hand..Dammn its a BRICK OF IRON.. man i tell you guys its so heavy..it was a total turn off.. like a nightmare..didnt have the courage of switch it on.
any way i hope it was just a bad dream..
it's a phone, you can use it anywhere on this Planet and it has a sim card slot!
Apple themselves have a 14 day return policy for online goods, I bought an iMac played with it loaded up with various OS's then phoned up the 14th and said I didnt want it and got a full refund.
I've done this on 3 occasions. Even then once they were late for a return pick up and they gave me compensation, £30 credited back to my account.
Not sure what their stance will be on the iphone though.
I've bought various phones from O2 and I've always been able to take it back if I didn't like it, and that was from an in store purchase. The people just asked why I didn't like it and gave me a different handset of my choice.
im using this phone in the UK! on t-mobile! and iv used all the nokia Nseries so far and by far the iphone is the best phone iv eva used.
I have just bought the iphone. Is there a way to forward text messages from the Iphone to another phone?
t-rex is correct about 14 day returns policy on i phone because i read the damn lot on o2 website but under uk law you cannot just return a product because you have changed your mind but you can have refund or exchange if product is faulty,,if the product develops a fault after 28 days it goes for repair up to manufacturers standrd gaurantee and yes these gaurantees can vary up to 10 years..BUT some shops do have their own policies and some returns can always be at the managers discretion whether they give you a new item if its just outside 28 day period in fact any shop can have any policy if it wants as long as it has the standard uk law as ive stated above hence the term this does not affect your statutory rights. If you could take the i phone for a test drive like you could a car then you have accepted the produt as such and the 14 day return would be void but because this chance to test out or trial a mobile is not an option most stores give a 14 exchange policy at least but not many will just give you a refund even carfone
Craig is ALWAYS negative about Apple, they will be VERY successful
anyway also in the UK ,the device is simply best of the best...
announced earlier today, a 7 day change of mind policy has been introduced, (but may go away again) however as previously mentioned, it has some really strict and as of yet unknown stipulations, one of which i would speculate that the phone is not even touched!
That is not actually true.... There is NO change of mind policy,
There is however a 7 day return if you have failed the credit check. You must provide proof that you have failed.
There is no IR and bluetoot file transfer, but the user interface and the overall consruction and ease of use make it the best portable phone and internet device ever, Nokia has a LONG way to go to come even close the software make the difference and the way anybody can get to use it in seconds .....
Just found out that CPW are allowing a 7 day change of mind (subject to some very tight T&C`s). Dont yet know if this applies to Apple and O2 but I would guess it does.
This is still NOT a legal right thought T Rex. If you work in retail, and it seems you must, then your understanding of consumer law would be funny if it was not such a bad example of poor training/knowledge. I feel sorry for your customers and the bad advice they must be getting form you if you actually believe what you are saying is legally accurate. Check your facts on any consumer web site and you will see you are utterly incorrect.
In response to Rich and the post yesterday about the "law". Under UK consumer law you have no right at all to return goods if you change your mind after point of purchase. You have a right to return for exchange or refund if faulty but NOT for a change of mind. In regard to the iphone (and other mobile handsets) if you returned for refund due to a fault this applies to the product itself and NOT the contract. So if you returned an iphone that was faulty and did not want a replacement you would almost certainly still have to pay the contract itself.
It is a popular mis conception that you have a right to a change of mind, this is NOT the case. Please dont think that you do or it could become a VERY expensive home trial.
As to the distance selling act (buying online and over the phone) the legislation is actually 7 days NOT 14.
Anyone wishing to check this information can do so easily by going to consumerdirect.gov.uk.
Please, DONT buy things thinking you have a right to play with them at home and then return them. You don`t. Many shops DO allow this but many more DONT and it is NOT a legal right for the consumer.
There is no IR port to transfer the data and also the bluetooth is headset supported.
Why you want to spend so much money on this ..wait for Nokia 888.
if india is rural then there'e no priority for wifi then you should know that india doesn't supports 3g services did ever made a video call in india iam also from india atleast now a days ppl do have a wifi network so kindly clear your doubts and iphone is a aweosome phone as it is already named a innovation of the year by time
