PS - there is no hate. I am stating factual, impartial comment. I am not coming out with senseless, immature and geek-laden b0llocks like the "iPhone is horesh!t" and "SE rules".
It is the blind m0rons, spellbound by all the hype, who seem to think the iPhone really is the best thing in the world. As soon as someone like me points out the realities, all of a sudden the whistle is blown and the iPhone Hater card is pulled.
Grow up.
Also, Mobile Review - another popular mobile website - know better than most, and they hardly gave a gleaming review. And if their words aren't that important, why was their site targeted by hackers once they released their mediocre verdict on Steve Jobs latest overhyped venture?

It took me 3 hours actually.
And Apple didn't rewrite the computer game last time I checked. If my figures are correct, more people are using PCs and more developers are developing software for the PC.
I'm not saying PCs are better, but if Apple really did rewrite the "computer game", why aren't they leading it???
Can't argue with the "music game", but I will blame Sony for being utter arrogant dumbas$es, thinking the iPod wouldn't be a threat to their dated minidisc player. They sat on the fence for too long, and by the time they released their equivalent, the gravy train had already left and it wouldn't surprise me if they have to retire their legendary "Walkman" brand and stick to TVs and laptops...
And we are yet to see if Apple will "rewrite" the "mobile game" - it is very early days yet, and I think with such a high price tag, the majority of consumers will be turned off, which is why I think the door is still wide open for a compeitor to come in a clean up, blowing the iPhone away.

It probably took you half an hour to fill this blog with senseless hate for the Iphone, can you imagine how long it will take Nokia to write
code ( software ) as powerful as the OSX, probably ten years and it would be obsolete by the time it would be ready, document yourself with the numbers and the success of Apple in recent years, they rewrote the rules in the PC game, the Music game and now in the mobile phone game, Nokia is pathetic trying to follow suit with their proposed online music store.
End of the story .
"In recent years Nokia phones have become average, with crappy looks and boring software and menu system. Nokia's time is over, Sony Ericsson and Samsung are the best mobile manufacturers at this point in time."
I would agree to an extent, but I think Nokia are slowly changing things for the better in terms of phone design (6500 Classic, Luna, E51).
Yes their software and menu systems are a bit boring, but they are no worse than SE or Sammy. Who is the "best" manufacturer at the moment is debatable. Sure Samsung produce well designed phones, but the constant barrage of black plastic and slider form-factor is beginning to get horrendously tedious. I also find their phone software clumsy.
SE make good phones, but again, they seem to be quite dull looking handsets; the design is never drastically changed, which even Nokia dabbles in (Prism, Communicator series, Tablet series, etc). I have never used an SE, but I hear their software is good, so I will give it the benefit of the doubt.
In terms of competing with OSX, I completely agree that the other manufacturers simply cannot compete - their software is too dated and no where near as innovative or original. Symbian, Palm and Windows Mobile are dated.
It will take a brand new OS to compete and, as someone has said, this could take a decade to produce to make it work properly. It will be interesting to see how this pans out in terms of operating software on mobile devices, although do not overlook a certain dark horse who could even blow OSX out of the water (hint: Google).
"Even though this first iphone is a bit crappy the second revision will most definately be a true revolution."
Well, if they sort out all of the problems and don't slap such an astronomically ridiculous price tag/contract, then yes, you could have a point here.
But do not underestimate the big boys or other competitors. Could you have predicted Hamilton doing what he did in F1? Everyone thought the new boy would win it in his first season. And did he? Don't apply the same method of thinking with Apple - look beyond the hype and glamour and is it really that great?
The problem for " the big guys " is that they do not have the OSX operating system, if you knew something about cellphones and software to drive them you would understand that the real value of the Iphone is not the hardware but the software and it would take the " big guys " ten years to come up with a software as powerful as OSX, Iphone is here to stay and to humiliate the " big guys" in the coming years.
Competitors with products similar to the iphone are already out there, but they don't sell as well because they simply do not function as well as they advertise. Apple has alway been about taking technologies available and putting it in a simple to use package.
Think about Mac OSX Leopard, Time machine allows the average Joe user to back up in a single button click. They've taken the backup up process and made it ridiculously easy.
So even if there are similar products to the 2nd or 3rd iphone generation they will never sell as well. They may do everything the iphone has and better, but it wont have the big Apple logo on the back which is a big as selling point as any features.
The second iphone with 3G out next year will have killer looks and improved functionality which look to wipe the floor with competition.
In recent years Nokia phones have become average, with crappy looks and boring software and menu system. Nokia's time is over, Sony Ericsson and Samsung are the best mobile manufacturers at this point in time.
Even though this first iphone is a bit crappy the second revision will most definately be a true revolution.

Please keep laughing up until January 2 2008 - when you return to school - and then get back home to find one of your 13-year-old peers has taken it for themselves; it's basically sreaming to be mugged, stolen or broken in the hands of someone your age.
Shall I start laughing now? Actually, that'd be cruel on your conscious.
And your parents wallets.

Re: Nokia releasing very average, un-innovative products.
Well, to an extent I agree. And IF Apple do release a new 3G iPhone, with GPS, a half decent camera, seamless applications/games support, resolve all the connectivity issues and sort out their diabolical texting problems, then I think not only Nokia, but ALL of the other cell manufacturers will be very, very worried.
Personally, I can't see this happening, because by the time Apple has released such a phone, you can bet the big boys would have released their own iPhones which do everything the 2nd or 3rd gen iPhone can do only better and cheaper with operator autonomy and far cheaper contracts.
Remember O2 have had to "bump" up their contract prices courtesy of greedy Apple taking a 10% slice of the pie.
Once the operator-autonimous iPhone killers are released, this sales strategy could begin to seriously strangle sales...
Nokia certainly sells a lot of average consumer phones and is the largest phone manufacturer, but apple like you say " being a new player" was able to deliver the best unit on the market and get long lines of people in front of stores worldwide wanting to buy it,
moreover Apple is getting paid top dollars by the phone companies on the traffic generated, unlike Nokia that discounts their phones to get into the phone carriers, read and get documented before making superficial and general comments about a company that bare no intelligent content at all !

i didn't say n95 was crap! In fact I think its the only ever complete device I have ever brought! EVER! I'm just saying if I want to take pics I'll use my panasonic fx100. Any basic cam is good 4 quick snaps. I buy phones 4 a few purposes and any1 who buy a phone 4 camera must be crazy. T-mob uk is stupid using 3g on n95, it disconnects and messes up my calls and eats my battery so i just use it on gsm to browse. If any1 considering buying iphone, buy unlocked from usa. Dont worry about updates as shops in my area are already updating for £10 if ur scared to do it. Dont give 02 your money.
I dont know if anyone can help me out, I have cleared off all the icons from the screen by going in to customize and choosing to clear them, now I cannot get them back does anyone know what i can do.
se23. then don't say that n95 is crap. good point about the large screen on the i phone. that's what i like to see ,when someone has a valid point instead of just saying sale's, but you might want to print those picture's out eventually and with a 2 as opposed to a 5 meg on a 4 by 6, well what will the quality be like. i had picture's printed out for the first time from my n95. i was surprised at how good they were and they were only 730 kb's. Wait till i print out the picture's from my other memory card, these picture's were 1400kb's.
All the early adopters of the iphone may want to stop reading this.
I have just found out that Steve Jobs intends to announce a 3G version of the iphone at his keynote speech at Macworld 2008.
On top of this several rumors sites for Apple have stated that on top of 3G we may finally get GPS built in!! Plus all the other things missing from this model will be rectified.
So early adopters in Europe, your phones will be out of date by January 2008, just 3 months into your 18 month contracts.
Apple have done this before with the iMac computers putting out a brand new update 3 months after initial release back in 2006 Macworld.
What do you all think of the i phone clones like cect p168. are they any good.
i work in phones 4 u down george street hove and i am really jelous that i cant sell the iphone. it is so sleek i love it so much. it is so much better than the phones we sell :(
my nem i sam oakes and i work in carphone warehouse. i dont usually get excited about phones but this one makes me twitch ;)
I love my iphone
iPhone is dangerous to your brain?
Posted by Will on Saturday, November 10th, 2007 at 5:34 pm under iPhone, Apple
iPhone radiation could be dangerousRight. The iPhone could be dangerous to your brain. But then, so could any other mobile phone. And, the complete opposite could be true - we just don’t have any conclusive data one way or the other. That being said, The Register is reporting that replacement battery firm Exradia has called Apple out for ignoring “potential health issue[s]” with the iPhone. As we all know by now, the iPhone’s battery is sealed inside the handset and isn’t (easily) user replaceable. And, Exradia just launched a new line of mobile phone batteries with an integrated circuit that keeps your phone’s wireless radiation from wreaking havoc on your brain/DNA.
It looks like Exradia’s just playing up the potential danger of the radiation emitted by the iPhone to help sell a few extra batteries with integrated RF-absorbing juju. If you want to play it safe, just use a headset.
i also have no problem's with wi fi ,bg, my mp3 is also alot louder than your's with great quality. apple make's the i pod and this is the kind of music player they put in the i phone. bg, you have nothing to talk about with the i phone. that thing won't even fit into a shirt pocket it is so long and wide. my n95 fit,s in just fine. well i'am off to do some video recording of my son again with my phone! take a picture at night with the i phone, it has no flash or auto focus!!!
Today I was in a shopping mall waiting for my wife tried to get into WI FI with a Nokia E 61 impossible to do it, my Iphone went onto the WI FI network on its own, since I like to have a phone Internet device that serves me and not a device that drives me nuts without giving me the needed service i say IPHONE is the one, Nokia in the same league as PC where nothing ever works, gets viruses, drives you crazy with complicated software, but the average IDIOTSS keep on saying it is good except when they finally see you relaxed setting up and using excellent Apple products at your SERVICE !
"People, buy iphone, and if you don't like it, return it after 14 days, and go buy some other kind or brand phone..But i would say this..After couple of days, you will miss again iphone, and you will go buy again iphone..Because this phone really has a Magnetic skin, which mean, it can pull you in her body.."
