You guys are going to be very dissapointed when you get the phone
1st of all to own a working phone you would have to pay +£899.00 (£35 x 18 + 269.99)
I've already got the phone from ebay for £270
pounds but it's not all that.
2mp camera, no 3G, sound quality when speaking on the phone is very poor and low and it's way too much.
You can however unlock the phone to other networks though
wuts so good about it, all i see are gimmicks.. for a very high price
To Tordrumguy and the others regarding market forecast.
Apple is on the up and up, I never dismissed this. I am dismissing the fact that it will ever reach the revenue of the better suppliers of mobile phones. The fact that it secured a 10% share of all revenue is meaningless. Profits are logarythmically smaller and I think will always be until Apple updates the features of their (yet to be announced) range of mobile phones. Apple is fantastic at marketing but this will only take them so far as has been demonstrated by Motorola worldwide as their shares and profits continue to fall. They make pretty phones, but that's it. Apple is riding the back of it's IPod success but the mobile phone market is a very different story. Nokia's success lies in its quality and functionality and this is also demonstrated in share prices and profits. They don't make particularly good looking phones (let's be honest), but the general market doesn't want this above all else. Being the most profitable mobile phone manufacturer in the world is testament to this.
hi everyone, this fon is really amazing, i just wish i could this fon one day but its too expensive. it is available now here in Digital World Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines which costs Php37,000 (US$822). i was surprised when i saw this in the store since the internet says that it will be available here in asia in 2007. the iphone is in 8g version... ganda talaga...
humm i donno, i went to buy the iphone twice and everytime i go into the apple store the display model i use to play around with brakes. first the whole thing just froze, then maps didnt want to come up and the third time screen went all weird with black. so i think i'll wait for the n95 8gb untill iphone 3 or so comes out. nice try tho, one positive is the plans that come with it, well at least for the US market.
sorry i just had to add that this is THE PHONE OF THE FUTURE! just like everyone has an ipod, soon everyone will own or want to own an iphone. it's just that great. and as apple continues to fix the little things like no picture messaging or no stereo bluetooth or no copy and pasting, this phone would be in a league of its own. i bet the other phone companies are scared and just biding their time...
I must admit this phone is the best phone in the market. take it from me, i'm currently a sony ericsson(SE) p990 owner. the p series of SE has some awesome features however bcuz the phone wasn't built with enough ram it can't really deliver on the way it's supposed to work. the newer p1 is supposed to fix this b/c it has more ram than the p990. but knowing SE i know it won't be long before people start complaining about that too. the problem is with the OS they use symbian uiq which is still in its early stages of development, relatively. the absolutely awesome thing about the iphone is the OS. if u've ever used or owned any of the mac computers/laptops you would understand what i mean. everything is user friendly and so seamless and easy to use and these same features are present on the iphone. it delivers on evry feature promised and it doesn't hang even when u have sevral applications open. WOW...i wouldn't believe it until i saw and played with one for myself. Too bad im with Tmobile:(
i know that the unlocked versions are available but apple released a new update today that they said would basically make the unlocked versions of the phone useless:(
i guess the next best thing is the ipod touch. either that or i switch to at&t. not gonna happen though...
Read to get out of your ignorance :
A recent Apple job listing for a "Bluetooth/WiFi SW Engineer - iPhone" specifically asked for experience in developing drivers for the Mac OS X I/O Kit, as well as familiarity with Mac OS X's Mach kernel and the ARM processor architecture.
The phone has been on the market about 90 days and there are a lot of applications available growing every day..........
It is evident you do not understand that if you have the bluetooth
hardware built into the Iphone and it is a programmable full blown computer with OSX inside all it takes is an application to give the bluetooth hardware digital instructions about transferring the files;
so called also "software ".
If you do not undesrtand this I suggest you take a course in computer science.
You will then understand how different is this phone compared to the other "rigid " non programmable phones.
what ???? can you transfer pictures or any files by bluetooth with iphone?? You sure you have iphone ? or you buy other phone..All people talking about that and you telling you can trasnfer files by bluetooth? IPhone has a bluetooth, for only headset, AND NOT FOR ANY OTHER APPLICATION..

Kate - There are some launch pages through Rogers that you do not get charged for. However, any other browsing you do you'll be charged for.
Canada sucks for data plans on all wireless vendors. They are expensive and don't provide much data transfer usage. This will be the barrier to the iPhone in Canada.
If you have access to WiFi at work, home etc. and can forgo the data cost that is good. If your company pays your wireless bill even better.
If you decide to buy the iPhone and use it in Canada, expect to pay a high phone bill if you do a fair bit of mobile browsing.
