Defending the indefensible

How much true it is then? 99%? 50%? 10%? That reply implies that the functionality is not easily accessible.

Translation: a feature that you find as default in pretty much any other phone is not available on this phone. Oh yeah, and you will have to pay for it, never mind you get it free in the other phones.

Bluetooth does not support an external keyboard, it seems like the phone supports headsets only. If that is the case, well, doh!
>> Then:
>> "No Games,"

Translation: half assed support for games. All other phones come preloaded with some games and you can download many now, not some indeterminate time in the future.

That is the most idiotic thing said on the comment I am replying to. Java has never been a major security issue. Java programs have to run in a thing called a virtual machine, which makes it very difficult to access basic functions in the phone. Java was designed from the ground up with security as one of its main features. Who wrote that comment simply does not know what he is talking about
>> Then:
>> "Can't do Custom ringtones,"

Translation: not available. Ringtones. For a phone. No further comment frankly.
------> gotta love the apple iphone...HAHAHA!
I listen to the Tom Lycos radio show. He said that if I got one I'd have more dates. Wow, it's true; my iCalendar is full now. Thanks Tom. ;-)
Seriously, it's a cool phone. Easy to use and it works just the way Apple advertised. Get one, if you don't like it...return it.
Who makes the Apple iPhone?
Does it have a color screen?
How bid is the hard-drive?
Does it have Windows Mobile or Palm OS?
Will it be released in the US?
Do they make a bigger one for girls that need a larger size?
Read the online manual!
Read the "Specifications on GSM Arena!"
It’s also the best phone that anybody has ever made,” says Lev Gossman (Time). “The user interface,” Grossman marvels, “is crammed with smart little touches — every moment of user interaction has been quietly stage-managed and orchestrated, with such overwhelming attention to detail that when the history of digital interface design is written, whoever managed this project at Apple will be hailed as a Michelangelo, and the iPhone his or her Sistine Chapel.”
Someone wrote the Symbian OS is better.
Well, look at the Motorolas and the latest SE P990i that uses it; you cannot give the 990i away.
A phone is more than just the OS. Althought I tend to agree that Windows Mobile is a disaster.
Don't by the phone in eBay at high prices. The guys on eBay are selling phones like a scalper sells tickets. The phones are available at Apple and AT&T:
Availability:
http://www.apple.com/retail/iphone/
The SIM Card will come out and can be changed easily.
User Manual:

And, there is insurance for the iPhone through Apple:

It will send and receive MMS. You have to understand what they really are. Contact either T-Mobile or AT&T for GSM instructions on MMS.
Don't listen to the lies about the iPhone. It's a nice phone and will do many things people are saying it won't!
Get one and try it; if you don't like it, take it back.

Yes, it was a smart move; it's called exclusive marketing. That's why you don't see certain Blackberrys and/or SE phones on other carriers.
Also, THE SIM CARD COMES OUT–and quite easily. Read the manual!
The phone will be available in other countries at the end of the year. It won't have to be on AT&T service. You guys are mixing things. The AT&T exclusive contract is with the US only. Do you really think Apple would not release the phone for years in Europe. Don't be stupid! This was never said by Apple - never!
Rumor is T-Mobile will have it in Europe. If not them, it will be Orange or Vodafone. And they will not take directions from AT&T.
Some uninformed person wrote:
"NO! NO! NO! It cannot be bought and/or used ANYWHERE but on AT&T in the USA, so stop asking!"
NO, no, no, stop telling this nonsense. It is a world phone and will work in all countries that have an agreement with AT&T service. The SIM will, in fact, come out. With regards to unlocking it, this should not be discussed on GSM Arena!
Some lazy person asked:
"how did you change out the sim card? as at&t says its preinstalled so you cant take it out and what features are you talking about that you will lose by doing that."
Most of the people at AT&T were only give a 20-minute training session the day prior to sales; they say only what they were told. But, they don't really know–which is sad.
People, people, people, read the online manual!!! The SIM comes out and nothing is lost!!! This is how Apple deals with service issues when they give you a loaner–they swap the SIM. Simply use a paperclip, as the instructions how, and pop out the card holder; then take out the SIM. If you want to unlock it, well...that should not be discussed on GSM Arena.

All locked phones lose features when they are taken to another carrier. So, it will lose only the exclusive AT&T features.
I have the iPhone and it is truly amazing. I got it to replace my w810i. It is light years ahead of any SE phone (or any other for that matter).
NO! NO! NO! It cannot be bought and/or used ANYWHERE but on AT&T in the USA, so stop asking!
to whoever posted: "it is no inbuilt sim....it has a sim card slot on its top..so u can change it..its on gmsarena so obviously it has a sim slot."
It's on GSMArena because it's a GSM phone, not because it has a SIM card slot.
To everyone asking if the iPhone can be used in another country ... the answer I have heard from a local dealer (Canada) who specializes in unlocked hardware is, currently no. The word is it will only work on AT&T in the US; not even other US carriers.

Can iPhone be purchased from USA and used in Middle east? Is there any slot to insert a SIM card that connects to my regional network? Request answers urgently.

I had a chance to play with the iPhone over the weekend. I can say that from a User Interface perspective this is the best cell/PDA I have seen or used.
As with all devices it has some short-comings. However, this is v1.0 of the iPhone release so early adopters who buy should not expect it to have everything perfect.
Apple did what Apple does best ... great design, great user interface.
We'll see how they do on the feature-to-feature battle over time.
