WiSeBoBo, 22 Apr 2009Is it really worth it to get a macbook? I haven't used an Apple product before getting the iPh... moreI'd say yes. First of all check to see if what you want to do is supported on Mac (and even if it isn't you can always use a parallels software) and yeah, thats about it really. If you can get into an Apple Store go in and have a fiddle with it, ask questions and do your research. www.apple.com has countless video and text walkthroughs on every aspect of Apple products.
The thing I like about Apple, both in their computers and phones is that they make the hardware and the software. With Windows you buy say an Asus laptop, and Microsoft OS, but with Apple, its all from the same factory.
But yeah, this is slightly off forum topic, so I'll leave it at that.
In iPhone related news, is there anyone reading this who is developing with the new SDK? I'm curious to see how things are going.

Sir Josiah, 22 Apr 2009How many handsets is Symbian on though? People keep forgetting that Apple only make one pho... morefirst you are entitled to your opinion. but that's a load of crap. if nokia was just making nseries phones iphone would be dead in the water as a matter of fact without touchscreen the iphone would be losing to a point of apple stopping the production of the device. for as in computers dell outsells mac by a considerable margin. however i have to agree imaging wise the mac looks alot nicer none the less the mac is very limited just like the iphone as with the pc it has more of an open platform like symbian.as for stability all devices have problems from time to time including the mac and iphone. at least with nokia it doesn't require syncing or wifi in order to update podcasts or software on the phone which to me is more practical plus i don't have to pay for music and then turn around and pay for the same music to be used as a ringtone. i guess you could say i like to be a smarter consumer istead of throwing money away

People keep forgetting that Apple only make one phone. Sure their market share isn't huge, but I'm sure if you divided Nokia's market share by the number of handsets they are currently producing the iPhone would win hands down.
I mean, Winmo, Symbian, Android, they are all getting tossed aroud between companies as they battle it out to make the best handset on the market, when they really should be working on getting the best OS in the market.
Admittedly, updates on other OS' are being done, but the fact that Apple have had the same model out for 10 months now and instead of instantly throwing a press release on the next iPhone have been working on the OS... it speaks for itself.
Take a look at Apple's computers. Whilst they are more affordable than ever now, same spec'd Windows models are still cheaper. I know personally though the reason I changed was OSX. In fact, I bought my Mac after owning an iPhone, because I was so impressed with it.
So Apple has gained at least one customer due to focusing on a stable OS as opposed to big specs that will be outdated in a month anyway. *Shrugs* Its all personal opinion though.

For me, supposed iPhone killers failed due to:
- OS stability. My iphone does not crash when i open 1 application after another.
- Flawless Interface. Both the OS and Screen. My iPhone can definitely be called a touch phone. Not a "Press Really hard till the screen bends Phone"
- App Store. Lots of apps. I can download trial apps before buying the full version.

A new industry report from mobile analytics firm Flurry reveals some unique insights into the smartphone industry as of right now. Because their firm focuses not just on iPhone, but also on Android, RIM Blackberry, and JavaME, they have the ability to see platform-spanning trends, instead of just those tied to Apple. So what can we learn from their deep dive into their company's data? Anything surprising? Actually, what the report confirms is what we've been hearing for some time now: the iPhone is king, smartphones are the new laptops, and iPhone applications can and do make money.Iphone is King
After gutting the world unlocking and buying from us market later unlocking in your country apple has encashed on this myth but too late.
People are still using used without 3G at 200$ feel the satisfaction, why go for unlocked or risk new 3 version still without blutooth transfers awaiting.
