Allan, 13 Apr 2009Can you not put other maps on that can use voice guidance. Are you bound by only using google maps?At the present time yes.
That should change, it has already been demonstrated, when the N95 was first introduced into Australia it took Nokia months to negotiate the licensing issues with local maps, it took them several years to get Nokia maps to it's present state.
They can't just offer pirated software or they would be sued.
Misunderstood your post. So you can put other maps on with voice files. Do you still keep your google maps on or delete them?

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970It does have A-GPS and it does give turn by turn directions written ones not verbal ones.
All it needs are maps and voice files, there are licencing issues with Google maps using voice.
The streetview works well, you know what your destination looks like before you get there.
the supernatural exists... whatever you perceive him to be. otherwise the world wouldn't be as it is...
Tommy P, 13 Apr 2009Is the iRinger thing an iphone app or prog for the computer???its a program, a free download, not an iphone app.
you can also edit the mp3 file and make it even better.
teryeryfu, 13 Apr 2009Does the iPhone 3G have a turn by turn sat-nav feature? If not, what are the chances the next ... moreThe chances are very good turn by turn navigation has already been demonstrated, expect a few companies to offer it after OS 3.0 update.
tucks, 13 Apr 2009no it doesn't have turn by turn sat nav. it is not accurate enough to ever do it.
The sign... moreThat is misinformation pure and simple, the iPhone 3G has A-GPS so uses satellite, phone towers AND wifi to get your precise location.
Why are you outright lying?
teryeryfu, 13 Apr 2009Does the iPhone 3G have a turn by turn sat-nav feature? If not, what are the chances the next ... moreno it doesn't have turn by turn sat nav. it is not accurate enough to ever do it.
The signal triangulates your position through the use of phone masts, therefore will not be accurate enouch to pin point your exact location.
Don't let anyone tell you that there's a high chance of it being on the next release... no-one knows as apple keep everything very close to their chest. Plus with the new os coming this summer, don't expext a new release soon.
Does the iPhone 3G have a turn by turn sat-nav feature? If not, what are the chances the next iPhone will have this feature.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Pretty much fact, the only thing which keeps it from being fact is the point that most people are deluded by the beliefs of religion and can't accept fact against their beliefs, so in order to keep everyone happy we call it a theory : )
Anonymous, 13 Apr 2009So is God and all of the related religions, just theory to mislead people, also called theology evolution says we have progressed over time. Have we, people still kill people. Why are there still apes today if we came from them?

Artanis, 12 Apr 2009Fully-functionalized accelerometer and minimalism, that's it. Why do people likes this phone, ... moreyes iphone has limited features but it gives you the best of what it has. like its unique fast software. great internet in your pocket, great music, movies and applications. all phones cannot give everyone their needs, it just depends on the user's needs.
im not a fan of a camera phone, because i dont use my phone's cam and video often. i have a professional digicam with me for the big events. because big events are once in a lifetime and i want to use the best digicam for that occasion. not a phone's cam, besides, all phone's cam is crap compared to any digicam, still not close.
iphone + itunes + apple store is just a great combo.
gives their users convenience. thats what users paid for. not just those high mpixel cams, video cams on phone, these things are not worth paying for, we pay for great products and great products has great product supports. apple and greatly supports their product. i will not sacrifice what iphone gives me for just a 5mp camera video phone, but with a slow software and minimum product support??.. thats not a great product to pay for.
Despite some shortcomings in the iPhone's specs, the web browser and applications far outperform those on any other model i've seen/used, and that is why, after resisting the hype over this handset for months, finally purchased one..
Like any phone, the iPhone doesn't suit everyone's needs, but what it does do, it does brilliantly.
Can't wait for the iPhone 3.0 software to arrive in the coming months!
Tommy P, 13 Apr 2009Is the iRinger thing an iphone app or prog for the computer???PC application that makes iPhone ringtones from any MP3 and puts them in iTunes ready to sync.
You can also make them by hand but there's a few steps involved.
If you have a Mac you can just use GarageBand.
Hmhmhmhmhm.... Great user interface! I very like, but feature is poor... And cost too much...
