Statistics published November 2008 showed that Symbian OS had a 46.6% share of the smart mobile devices shipped in third quarter of 2008, with Apple having 17.3% (through iPhone OS), RIM having 15.3% and Microsoft having 13.5% (through Windows CE and Windows Mobile). Other competitors include Palm OS, Qualcomm's BREW, Google Android, SavaJe and MontaVista Software.
Lets just take a moment with these statistics. How many handsets does Apple produce?
A single phone has a 17.3% market share. Sure Nokia has the largest, but look at its output, look how long its been in the industry. The iPhone OS is winning people over by the millions.
If the iPhone is so rubbish and inferior why is it the yardstick to beat?
Does Iphone 3G supports video recording? Coz I heard some third party applications enable video recording on the phone...

Which in my opinion is still great. So does 18million people. I think you're starting to learn young sky walker.
what's also laughable is you can't send multiple sms or files over bluetooth. that's unheard of for a smartphone.

you still can't rationalize your decision to get an iphone over an ipod because it's essentially the same device. the truth hurts but it's nothing but an ipod phone.

Are you saying they should have just bought a flashlight instead? That's a really nice arguement. Hmmm...maybe i'm an 8 yr old kid, but based on ur arguements, if your an adult, you'll be a sad excuse for one. Don't u think?

so why would u get an iphone instead of an ipod? for a phone with ipod capabilities and nothing else; it offers nothing else.
Anonymous, 09 Apr 2009iphone = ipod what can you say to defend that? end of storyCan iPods be use to make calls via gsm? Last time i checked they can't so iphone=ipod sounds really dumb (No offense intended), just like saying nokia=flashlight.

why do u think iphones sell so much? they are only $200-300 on a contract. not bad for an ipod.

Just like AT&T, some Apple stores are now selling iPhones without a contract for $599 (8GB) and $699 (16GB). But unlike buying these phones at AT&T, you don't need an existing AT&T contract to take advantage of the offer. And there's no account limit on the amount of iPhones you can buy.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970the fact that an iphone is an ipod in which you have to sign a 3 year contract in order for kids to get one?
sorry this is general knowledge, not news worthy of reporting.
Does anyone know a good pair of earphones/headphones to compliment the iphone. I mean, one that has the remote thingy on it as well so i can also answer my calls w/it. Pls post your suggestions folks. thnx.
Anonymous, 09 Apr 2009N 97 not even available wait till June when the new Iphone will be out ...Apple did not say anything about a new iphone right, just a new OS 3.0? If there's a new iphone, that would be such a bummer, just got my iphone 6mths months ago. I was hoping it would last me at least 1.5yrs. If they release the new one, i'll want to buy it. Arrrgghhh!
