Your Finnish friends are desperate at the copycat business, where is the Iphone killer and the Itunes killer number one music retailer in the US ???
Like i've said before, it's funny how iphone users try to rationalize and justify buying an ipod for a phone. If i wanted an ipod, i would have got an ipod.

Anyway, symbian still leads as it caters to upper and lower income classes. There's so much symbian phones released. There's only 1 iphone released in 2008. I don't think that's a fair comparison. Try comparing 3 symbian phone sales to 1 iPhone. You 'll have a better comparison that way. (wink wink)

Nokia: cellphone market to drop in 2009
Nokia today updated its guidance for the fall and for 2009 to predict a significant downturn across much of the mobile space. The Finnish company continues to expect its cellphone shipments to go up along with the rest of the industry but that both its own growth and world-level business will be slower than expected

I don't think selling 40% of the world's cell phones is a "problem" for nokia. By the way, these are "cell phones" not "applications".

Anonymous, 09 Apr 2009Symbian never took off? Nokia's sell 40% of all cell phones in the world. Have you been living... moreWell, lots of people are funny in that sense. They buy low quality digicams for cellphones, hell, they even buy flashlights for cellphones (i remember my nokia days hehehe). But that's just how people are, they buy according to their needs and wants. It's the basic concept of Marketing. Live with it.
"Symbian OS is the leading OS in the "smart mobile device" market. Statistics published November 2008 showed that Symbian OS had a 46.6% share of the smart mobile devices shipped in third quarter of 2008, with Apple having 17.3% (through iPhone OS), RIM having 15.3% and Microsoft having 13.5% (through Windows CE and Windows Mobile).[5] Other competitors include Palm OS, Qualcomm's BREW, Google Android, SavaJe and MontaVista Software.

zxcZXC, 08 Apr 2009what you need is n97!
many items in your list is not going to happen
to those who think yo... moreGet N97...hmmm...nah...i don't even consider using a nokia again after getting the iphone. After the "success" of their first touchscreen, 5800, I don't have high expectations for n97. Been a nokia user for sometime and liked their phones til i got this phone. I don't complain about mms as i don't use it, why would i if i have email and a data plan?
Don't get me wrong, my wishlist are mostly just whims aside from the copy paste function. It not that important to me but it would just be nice to have em...hehehe.
iphone apps can't even be tried for free before purchase. Heres a link saying people don't use the apps much.

You don't have to turn off the iPhone or pull it apart to swap SIM's let's see your N-series rubbish do that.
