2.2.0 and 2.2.1 is not a big update, they say just fixes bugs, i did not notice it at all. so no need for you to update to 2.2.1"
Well that's not all, the majority of the newer applications in appstore (games, etc) will need an iPhone with 2.2.1, that's why i've updated mine, the only negative aspect is that v2.2.1 can't be unlocked yet, no big problem forme because i use only Vodafone network.
Anonymous, 02 Apr 2009the 2.2.1 can be unlocked , except if you have the 2.3 baseband . I've now a screen that usb cable with itunes icon.
How can i know which firmware my iphone has? Is there any way to know that? coz i can't go to the menu. you know what kind of screen that is.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I depends what you want. If you like music, films, games and internet browsing than there is no match to the iPhone.

Best phone on the planet period, and if you hack it you can do pretty much everything a computer do. People saying its not that great its simply because they haven't try it.
Anonymous, 02 Apr 2009you cannot forward msgs on the iphoneWhen the iPhone OS 3.0 is released you will be able to forward messages, then you'll have nothing to continuously whine about so you will hopefully go away.

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2009Does it contain chinese language inside?? Please helpIt has the Chinese language, there are two keyboards Simplified and Traditional, both of them have either Handwriting and Pinyin options.
The handwriting option gives you a blank area of the screen where you write characters with your finger and are given a selection of possibilities to choose from.

All you are doing is causing confusion for legitimate phone buyers and taking up time and space that should be devoted to people asking questions.
iPhone OS will be open source - If you want to tweak a phone that much, get one running Android. Anyone can make Apps for the iPhone, yet it will always be under the control of a stable OS. I can't complain with that.
No more unlocked phone - And this is an issue why?
All VOIP over 3G - How would I call my friends with Nokia 1208s?
Partner with Carl Zeiss lens and Bose loudspeaker - The reason phone manufacturers partner with companies like these is for the name badge that they can plant on their product for advertising. Apple has enough high end cred on its own, they don't need other branding to sell the iPhone.
Completely different design from the iPhone 3G - Because 18 million sales prove that the handset is a fail, lol.
Camera button, call/reject buttons on front - Camera button, maybe, though the less physicall buttons the less that can be accidently bumped. If camera is that important, put its icon in the dock. As for call and reject... if someone calls me, call and reject buttons appear. They are only valid for when someone is calling me, so why should I sacrifice screen space for buttons that are so specific. The one thing I love about the iPhone is that I don't need to navigate around pre-set buttons to do features they weren't designed for.
5MP Camera for back and front with optical zoom and xenon flash and variable aperture - First of all, on the Black Dot list (I believe thats what it was) the iPhone was voted best imaging device. It has been debated countless times on this forum, yet the fact remains, its not the megapixels that count. No one takes poster size photos with a mobile, they stick to Facebook jpegs and at most, a photo print. At this size, 2MP is more than adequate to produce the quality needed. If you really need to zoom in microscopically, or provide professional photos for a wedding buy a camera. Its what they were made for. Yes you can complain, but the iPhone camera is simply quite good, regardless of megapixels.
As for front camera, is a well known fact that no one uses video calls, hence voiding the need, lol.
Multitasking for 3rd party apps - Apple made sure not to have multitasking due to the fact that is would run down the battery. Simple as that. What they have done instead with the new SDK is unlock push updates and such so that you can get updates from say an online chat app, whilst it isn't open. (If this information is incorrect, please correct it, but thats what I gathered from the press release)
Update is free for iPod Touch - No point, because most of the updates you listed are hardware, so it wouldn't make a difference, lol.
