Multi touch on resistive is better than on the iphone? Show me that phone. If you can't, shut up =)

How can resistive be more modern when capacitive is the newer technology? I wonder what would you think about capacitive when Nokia would produce a capacitive touchscreen phone like Samsung did with their Omnia, lol. I'm sure you'll change your mind, lol.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Sorry to burst your bubble but the iphone is smarter than your omnia and xperia. Xperia is actually considered a major failure. DIdn't you read about that? lol. Omnia does not perform as well as the iphone. It's using old technology of resistive touch. Also, the omnia's (i900) screen has a washed out quality. Sorry, but the iphone outsold omnia i900 and xperia combined =)

Also, Apple just wants to make sure that there MMS, copy/paste, and BT are better executed than the rest. What's sad is, Samsung and the rest never thought about making their screen legible under direct sunlight, using glass display, bigger than 3.0 displays, multi touch, smooth UI, integration of services, app store, etc, which are far more useful than mms, copy/paste and bt =) Now that's sad. It's only now that Samung is incorporating accelerometers and proximity sensors. At least with the iphone, it only took them less than 2 years, while with Samsung, it took them a decade to finally put in accelerometers and proximity sensors, and they still couldn't figure out how to make their screens legible under direct sunlight, lol. Shame. The iphone can multitask on selected apps for practical reasons. It eats up batt life, and you don't really need it. There are over 27,000 apps now on the app store. How can you say they're useless junk? Did you check each and every one of them? lol. What a stupid thing to say =) Apple compensates developers which is just fair. I can see that you want everything for free because you're a cheap person who takes advantage of developers work and does not want to compensate them, lol.
The iphone does not have all possible features out there, but do phone does so shut up and deal with the fact that the iphone is selling more than any of your samsung smart phones =)

It doesn't look too useful, in a browser if he get's that far it will take away double tap to zoom to screen width, which I use far more than multitouch zoom.

The ones making money out of MMS are the phone companies.
I can send an email with 10 1600x1200 photo's attached from my iPhone, for free as part of my plan.
With my network it would cost $5 to send the same photo's by MMS, the quality is affected because MMS messages are processed by the networks so they can be recieved by the lowest common denominator.

Just because you are a weird Samsung fanatic who thinks that there's a camera phone that's actually better than a standalone digital camera, it does not mean that we all should take that as a fact, lol. Any sane person would never say that a camera phone would render better quality pictures and videos than a standalone digital camera. I really don't see people using camera phones in recording or taking pictures for weddings, debuts, concerts and other special occasions that is intended for a montage or a photo album , lol. You are asking me if I can name you other digital cameras that can record HD videos. Hmmm, that would require me to do some searching. Would you accept that you are stupid if I can name you more? =) So what if Samsung managed to create a 12mm device, the iphone is thinner =) 600mhz of CPU has little to do with processing image quality, lol. Again, just proves how ignorant you are =) No Samsung camera phone can match standalone digital cameras, period =) That is a fact. Now if you in your little world believes that your Samsung phone can take better photos than a standalone digital camera, then keep it to yourself because that is not a general fact. As for megapixels, yes, the higher the mp the better, that is if you are planning to blow up photos in poster sizes. But for phone viewing and regular size photos, a 2 or 3 mp should render excellent results as well, depending on how good your photo processor is. Also, even if you have an 8mp camera phone, but with poor photo processors, it would not render very good results. And as I have said, Samsung phones do not have the photo processing powers of standalone cameras. The photo comparison between iphone and the omnia was using blown up pictures, so of course the omnia would render better details of photos when blown up. But, if my intention is to blow up a photo, why would I use a phone to take that photo? When my Canon camera will kick any of your Samsung phone's butt in taking photos to be blown up? Why are you bringing up digital cameras that was released 3 yrs ago? Are you afraid to compare your omnia to current digital camera technology? lol. No wonder you have the thinking that your omnia phone takes better pictures than a standalone camera. You're comparing it to standalone cameras released years ago, hahahaha.
You asked "who would carry laptop to watch hd videos". People who are on the go and prefer to watch a movie comfortably and with better quality on a bigger screen would do that =) Are you going to say now that it is better to watch a video on your 3.6 display omnia vs a 15.5 display mac book pro laptop? lol. Can your omnia play dvd? I don't think so =)
Hey, if you want to buy a battery and replace it yourself, that's fine. There's no problem either if Apple replaces the battery for you at the store. For me, it's more convenient if they do it. There's nothing to admit wrong of. If removable battery is a must for you, then don't buy an iphone and then complain about it when it is VERY KNOWN that with the iphone, you cannot remove the battery. Don't be stupid.
With the iphone you get the same warranty whether you buy the phone from the store or from the carrier. The moment to mess with the iphone, you lose the warranty. Simple as that.
You said "32GB on the samsung are because of the HD video so when you travel you can store up to 15hrs HD video" So what? I prefer watching videos on my laptop when I travel, so your point is moot. The iphone always gets internet connection either from your data plan or wifi so you can always have access to pandora and all other apps that require internet. So again, it is better than FM radio =)

Apple is making a massive amount of money by constantly having their users purchase a lot software that comes free with other phones i.e. paying for a MMS software! which is standard with every other phone. the hardware on the phone is basic, so the price of the phone is unjustified. the only unique hardware factor of the phone is the multi-touch. the users are being pulled along on a string. Every eighteen months a upgrade is released, with effort or chance by apple. Must software available on the phone is silly and pointless... just things to distract you from the lacking hardware. todays standard phone should two cameras; one for video calls, the other for photo of decent qaulity and vidoe capturing. the whole of 3G was for vidoe calling and MMS. the unchangable battery means you rely heavily on upgrading or spanding a vast amount of money to have it fixed. To say all these things don't matter is like buying a PS3 without a graphics card. the sole prupose of the "PHONE" is missed. the marketing of the phone has been great, but people forget, apple only care about your money and that's what they getting for the users and they are getting more harshly than any other user. think about it!

There's a big hype about the iPhone and what the iPhone has done for the market and the future of phones is great. BUT as a phone and just as a phone it's poor. the spces are poor. it's the software that delivers. You can't send multimedia text messages, no videos calls, extremely poor quality camera and no means of making a video, which is standard on todays phones. I was waiting for the iPhone, being a Mac user, but the specs were disappointing. I can't do the basics of a standard phone, but it distracts you with the software and things you would rarely use. as a piece of hardware it's substandard. If Apple work on phone side and build on what they have, they will truely have a winner (Keeping in mind what other hardware are available on the market; HTC, Sony Ericsson, Nokia (N-Series), Toshiba, Samsung and LG, all pushing out great spec phones (but lagging in OS in comparison the iPhone)). MS are just a step behind, but if they get the OS right and put it on the right spec phone, the iPhone will fall hard and I think that's not far behind. Lets hope Apple take the right steps

Apple does not invent Multitouch! I am not a lawyer, so i cannt comment on this patent things, but i think we still can have multitouch like software on N97.
here are some information i got from other site and some comments.
Stantum precision multitouch on resistive is way better than that on iphone, YOUTUBE "STANTUM" YOULL KNOW WHAT I MEAN! THEY SAID IT WORK ON SYMBIAN, WINMO AND ANDROID, only problem is it does need an extra small chip:( nokia should buy this company after symbian acquisition.
N97 has no this extra chip in it, but that does not stop us to have zoom rotate(plugin preferred) IN WEB/photo BROWSER with just one Finger

last word, resistive can be more powerful, useful and modern than that on iphone if it is well done (stantum is a good example)
Nokia n97 should have at least One-Finger Multitouch or multitouch alternative in it!!!!! this way, n97 is complete and 100% perfect

one finger multittouch for 5800/n97 very simple to implement zoom/rotate control by doubletapping you set a control point and when you drag the control takes efect need just one hand to controll (multitouch needs two hands to control - you have to hold the device with other hand
develope it now and upload it to Ovi store, make it free or donationware:) no more iphone is needed!

i dont understand all the iphone haters.......iphone is one of the best phones i have ever used.....put the new 3.0 firmware and it virtually does everything from copy paste to mms to bluetooth to a2dp....its a rocking phone....and its a luxury...luxury always comes at a price so stop complaining....
