Im a Nokia fan but will puchase the New iphone as it will now have everything I require plus the quality build is far superior. Roll on June when the new iphone is released.

Why O' why, 22 Mar 2009Apple is making a massive amount of money by constantly having their users purchase a lot soft... moreI've had the iphone for almost a year now, and I don't recall having to pay for any software. You are lying. MMS is included on the 3.0 OS, and we do not have to pay for that. The iphone offers amazing UI and OS and that is reason enough for its price. Not to mention wonderful firmware updates that we get for free and we don't have to buy a new device just to avail of major software updates, unlike other phones out there. You only identified multi-touch as a unique feature on the iphone. Why? Before the iphone, how many Nokia, Samsung and SE phones do you know that has proximity sensors, accelerometers, full touch screen, 3.5 displays, app store, visual voicemails, webkit, stock market app, weather app, google maps, etc out of the box? So yeah sure, you only noticed multi touch and fail to point out other unique combo of features that the iphone has.
Apple has a different concept of what should be standard on their phone. If you do not like it, don't buy it. It's as simple as that. But you are in no authority to judge the iphone as a poor phone just because it cannot capture videos or make video calls (a feature that is never used). 3G is for internet as well, not just video calls. Matter of fact, it is more used for internet than video calling on phones.
Just because you cannot remove the iphone's battery, it does not mean that it would need fixing, lol. What a silly logic you have. You simply go to the Apple store and they would replace it for you, just like you would have to go to a store to get new batteries for your phone anyway. Your comparison of non-removable battery to a graphic card is stupid. You said "the sole prupose of the "PHONE" is missed", yeah sure, that's why it sold 18 million, lol. And please let's not be hypocrites here. All of them need our money. Sad thing is, before the iphone, people have been paying a lot on devices that can only offer MMS, BT with crappy cameras, but you didn't mind paying $700 for the N95 with crappy maps and mediocre internet, but now you complain about the price of the iphone with better maps, UI, OS, Safari, Webkit, app store. There's something wrong with your rationale.

I think it is your brain that is poor, lol. The iphone has wonderful features and has an amazing OS and UI. Now are you just going to write that off just because it didn't use to have copy/paste, mms and a2dp? Now that's silly. With 3.0 OS, the iphone can now mms. No one uses video calling so please stop that already. The iphone's camera is good enough for random photos not intended to be blown up. The iphone offered its own standard features not found on other phones either, but I can see that you just want to discredit that and just focus on what other phones have that the iphone doesn't =)
Hey, if you can't live without those missing features on the iphone, simply don't buy it then, but don't call it a poor phone because it is not. Other phonemakers focus more on packing features to their phones even if the phone's OS is not powerful enough to do the tasks resulting to poor performance and mediocre results. Apple is not like that.
Be easy on the iphone. It's only been around for less than 2 years and it's already outselling HTC, Nokia, Samsung and SE and even changed the direction of cellphone technology and concept. The iphone is more than just a phone that can send MMS, a2dp and copy and paste. LOL.

Multi touch on resistive is better than on the iphone? Show me that phone. If you can't, shut up =)

How can resistive be more modern when capacitive is the newer technology? I wonder what would you think about capacitive when Nokia would produce a capacitive touchscreen phone like Samsung did with their Omnia, lol. I'm sure you'll change your mind, lol.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Sorry to burst your bubble but the iphone is smarter than your omnia and xperia. Xperia is actually considered a major failure. DIdn't you read about that? lol. Omnia does not perform as well as the iphone. It's using old technology of resistive touch. Also, the omnia's (i900) screen has a washed out quality. Sorry, but the iphone outsold omnia i900 and xperia combined =)

Also, Apple just wants to make sure that there MMS, copy/paste, and BT are better executed than the rest. What's sad is, Samsung and the rest never thought about making their screen legible under direct sunlight, using glass display, bigger than 3.0 displays, multi touch, smooth UI, integration of services, app store, etc, which are far more useful than mms, copy/paste and bt =) Now that's sad. It's only now that Samung is incorporating accelerometers and proximity sensors. At least with the iphone, it only took them less than 2 years, while with Samsung, it took them a decade to finally put in accelerometers and proximity sensors, and they still couldn't figure out how to make their screens legible under direct sunlight, lol. Shame. The iphone can multitask on selected apps for practical reasons. It eats up batt life, and you don't really need it. There are over 27,000 apps now on the app store. How can you say they're useless junk? Did you check each and every one of them? lol. What a stupid thing to say =) Apple compensates developers which is just fair. I can see that you want everything for free because you're a cheap person who takes advantage of developers work and does not want to compensate them, lol.
The iphone does not have all possible features out there, but do phone does so shut up and deal with the fact that the iphone is selling more than any of your samsung smart phones =)

It doesn't look too useful, in a browser if he get's that far it will take away double tap to zoom to screen width, which I use far more than multitouch zoom.

The ones making money out of MMS are the phone companies.
I can send an email with 10 1600x1200 photo's attached from my iPhone, for free as part of my plan.
With my network it would cost $5 to send the same photo's by MMS, the quality is affected because MMS messages are processed by the networks so they can be recieved by the lowest common denominator.
