It said it has removable battery, thanks to every other phone that has one, better camera, thanks to other phones. It was a 3.2 No word of auto focus or flash. It also said it has True GPS (they must mean they added voice guidance) Thanks to other phones once again and finally it showed it has video recording, thanks to so many other phones.

He also got it for 50 bucks when he renewed his same plan without paying for a hefty data plan, here in Canada.

Only problem is when you leave wi fi scanning on it will really drain the battery.

Anonymous, 26 Feb 2009Canada's phone plans really must s*ck, the iPhone plans in Australia are pretty much the same ... moreCell phone plans are reportedly higher here than most other places. Some cell providers from the U.S are trying to make their way into Canada, and the cell companys in Canada are being cry babies about it. On a side note how much is gas in austrailia. Right now here it's 78 cents a litre, but a while back it was 1.30 a litre. Things can be all relative to wages in each country or continent!

Allan, 26 Feb 2009That 1080.00 is for data only over 3 years. Your voice plan charges is seperate!Canada's phone plans really must s*ck, the iPhone plans in Australia are pretty much the same as any other phone except for the data, which costs no more than the other plans.

WiFi is almost non-existant, some McDonalds have it but it is slower than 3G and you come across some that require log in and credit card details.

At work there is no WiFi and most of the Internet is blocked.

It's also a 2G area, that doesn't stop me using my iPhone.

Apple knows they can sell to the cell providers and your cell provider knows they can get people hooked into 2 and 3 year data contract on top of your voice plan. It's cheaper to buy an unlocked iphone in Canada for around 700.00 and just use wi fi, than a 3 year contract for 1080.00 plus 200.00 for the iphone. Go on the contract and you've just spent an extra 580.00 dollars!!

I"m not on a data plan, but i can still use free wi fi like at my workplace. So how am i being biased to my own advantage??

Sir Josiah, 26 Feb 2009You just completely biased that comparison to your own advantage. In Australia, an iPhone outr... moreI agree, with Vodafone in Australia the 8GB is free on a $79 plan, the 16 is $121 or $5 a month extra, the N96 is $360 or $15 a month on the same plan.

P.S. I couldn't care less about Telstra pricing, just like I couldn't care less about people who don't check the functionality of a phone and weigh up the pro's and con's BEFORE buying it.

Personally the iPhone feels like it was made for me, if I designed a phone specifically for the way I used a phone it would be very close to the iPhone.

Over the past 15 years I've used 25 to 30 phone's.

Allan, 25 Feb 2009I'm not desperate like you guys to have internet access 24 7. I have free wi fi work and a com... moreYou just completely biased that comparison to your own advantage. In Australia, an iPhone outright price for the 16 gig model is about $900. The N96 is $1200. To get an iPhone on the unlimited talk and text plan from Optus, you are looking at $129 per month, with 3 gig of data, the handset being free. Alternatively, the N96 on the same plan costs an extra $20 a month in handset repayments. Be it said, the iPhone is on the iPhone specific plan, which gives an extra gig of data due to them being such internet intensive devices, but the facts still remain. (This is me posting from work at Optus with the brochure in my hand)

The iPhone is a more affordable handset. Period.
