ive got the opportunity to test both the Iphone and the new HTC G1 (at least new here in holland). imo the G1 rips the iphone appart with its opperating system.i know that the iphone has a lot of apps, but the G1 really gives you the idea of freedom. it realy feels like a phone you've just put together yoursel. i work at an telecom company and i got to choose between these phones, and now i own a G1 :D

For... morei think the omnia HD is at a point where anyone in the right frame of mind would sacrifice flashy transitions for a usable camera and usuable video quality, not forgetting little things like bluetooth, an fm radio (very much underrated in my opinion), higher screen resolution, divx playback and little thingss like that
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970So what games you get?
A phone's pretty boring if you can't get a few thousand games.
omnia is a smart phone and for people who really are smart! if you are not into tinkering with new gadgets, this phone is not for you. this is the phone i'll ever need. i have the nokia 5800 express music phone, too. the sound is great but the design sucks... not very classy.

For ease of use and the best interface ever, Iphone is your best bet. For music and movies and internet, Iphone is the best. If you want a better phone camera, there are plenty others that are better, but the Iphone does just about everything else better. Yeah it has no MMS or bluetooth FTP, but I've never found myself needing it. Plus there are 1000's of apps to replace functinos like those, and add MUCH more at that. I love my Iphone, but I would highly suggest using each of the phones you are thinking about. Specs aren't everything ;)

Buy something else outright and don't get anything for what you spend on using it.
That sounds smart.

They are just so diverse and unique. Here at work we have a demo one, and my personal one, and poeple come in and look at the demo one, and then I show them my one, which I have tweaked with the apps I want, arranged my homescreen upon preference, and its like a different phone.
As has been said countless times before, yes, it does have shortcomings, but just the other week there was the MMS app released. Magic Pad proves that Copy/Paste is possible and Rolando, one of the best games the App Store has to offer has something called iSave, which saves your progress mid level, so if you recieve a text you can switch out and switch back. Its not complete multitask, but as Apple said, that would run down the battery life astronomically... and personally, what they offer instead is just as good.
Apple have created a device which while not doing everything, has the potential to get pretty close.
