We only use them sometimes. When you turn them on they say insert sim. You can't do anything else until you insert your sim card. I've seen this same thing in the past with other cell phones from Fido!

Allan, 20 Dec 2008As for my comment before about hearing there was a problem of taking out the sim of the iphone... morei needed a new contract as my previous telco (the one i despise now, this is the reason i depise them) were canceling my deal and trying to force me on to one of their new plans which suck, and as on account plans also stink i took up a new 2 year contract with data, as i didnt have data previously either.

i dont even understand where youre coming from in the rest of that? my iphone is locked to my provider and works perfectly without a sim, and ive never heard of a iphone not working without a sim, nor any other phone for that matter, i guess i dont know many people who try to use their phone without a sim

As for my comment before about hearing there was a problem of taking out the sim of the iphone, maybe it was more of a difficult thing to do.
As for my comment "I think not" about not being able to use the iphone in offline mode. What's wrong with that. Most iphones people buy are branded to the cell provider and with almost any cell phone provided from the cell company, they will not work unless you put in your sim card.

Hence the freedom of an unlocked phone. Anyways you should know this, didn't you say you sell cellphones?

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2008well you never asked did you, you just assumed, and you know what assuming does dont you? its ... moreSo touch hd is exclusive to telco, which you despise.
Can't you just buy an unlocked one or do you prefer to get phones at a cheaper rate by going on a contract?

Like for example if hd was available with your cell provider.

well other then a few minor phones that ELF'd i had a Z510 and within 12 months the camera completely ceased function and the software went haywire, refussing to send messages and changing the date and time by itself, common problems you can read about on the phones board, and samsung also refused to repair under warranty so now i avoid their phones
