that is the problem...the responsiveness. it is very responsive that if your not paying attention unwanted applications can be open or accidental calls can be made.

to say nothing else comes close to this phone means that you are blinded by apple's name brand.

htc touch pro..also know as htc fuze, xperia1, omnia, nokia 5800 touchscreen, google G1 phone, bb storm outdo the iphone.

iLUVZtehIPOWNZ, 12 Nov 2008I find your entire post hard to believe. The iPhone is the EASIEST phone to use at the mome... moreSo do I.

His hands are to big to type, yet too small to use the phone one handed.

As far as call records go, touching the blue icon on the right hand side brings up the call details, in or out, the time and date and if it is in contacts, full contact details so you can choose how you want to respond (call, SMS or email).

Maybe he would be better of with a Motorola, press the green call key and use * or # to scroll through different call types, it's a lot easier than digging through the menu looking for it like S40 Nokia's.

Anyway I'm off to play my Ocarina and check out what other people around the world are playing on theirs.

The iPhone is the EASIEST phone to use at the moment.

Only people who are so used to a way of using phone, like say, a person used to how Nokia lays out their U.I., will find trouble in using this.

I may bash the iPhone in terms of its semi-multi-functionality, but it's still one of the best devices out there at the moment.

The speed. The responsiveness. The wow factor. Nothing else comes close.

Unless you're living in a country with no freedom, you can safely grab a Nokia instead of going for this phone. :)

I need to get rid of my IPHONE 3G. I have been using Nokia phones (40 series) the last few years (7310 supernova, 6500 classic, 6126, 6131).

I am amazed at the how bad the iPHONE 3G is at making calls and text messages. Here are some specific complaints where the IPHONE 3G function is sorely lacking.

                        A) font size can not be changed. differnet users have different eyesight. thus NO SINGLE setting can function for all users. I'm used to changing text messaging font size depending upon corrective lens being used.

                        B) basic functionality requires reading of users manual. most phones I have owned can be learned by looking through menu's. Not so the iPHONE. never are the context sensitive function of the phones buttons are labeled. one must experiment or read and memorize the manual to use the most primitive of phone functionality.

                        C) highly limmitted choice in activity logs. ie no called number logs. no recieved numbers logs. no sent text message log.

                        D) text messaging is awful. No choice in input method. No choice in how to view text messages. Only input method does not work (with finger that are not small). Multi step error prone process to move curser. Inability to "touch type" any content at all when not viewing screen. no ability to edit and forward sent email messages. The email application is not a valid alternative to sms .PERIOD.

                        E) phone require two hands to operate. one handed operations requires sliding the phone forwards and backwards in ones hand to move your thumb from the home key to the icons. thumb pressing icons & buttons is highly error prone making one hand operation problematic when employed.

                        F) operation degrades rapidly to none in non-ideal enviroments. Fixed font size make low light viewing quite difficult. Touch screen near impossible to operate if one is being jostled. Inadequate volume/noise cancellation destroys voice function if loud.

                        Conclusion:
I'm used to phone that take 1 hand 1 eye and half a brain to operate. iPHONE 3G requires 2 hands, 2 eyes, and study of the owners manual to operate with 1/2 functionality.

nick, 11 Nov 2008lol internet streaming isnt the same. it takes up far more battery, takes up data and you cant... moreThen again, we have people, like me, who listen to music, stuff, that you won't ever get to listen on an FM radio.

It's been 15 years since I tuned into FM. I don't get the logic of getting a music phone, and then having an FM transmitter.

Just giving my opinion on the matter.

i love my n95 for being able to just listen to the local radio station and listen to charlton athletic commentry at the weekends. there isnt a substitute for a lack of FM radio.
