I went to Giga store of gsm I've s... moreMaybe the iphone is not all that, but it does offer features and qualities that to some people are very important for a phone. And you are right, there are other phones in its category that looks better on paper, like those phones you've mentioned. But you see, the iphone outperforms most of them, if not all. I know that because I've had some of the coolest phones before I switched to the iphone and realized that those extra features are only nice things to have but aren't that essential. A responsive, intuitive, and fluid UI is actually more important. But I also recognize the fact that I have that mentality because I can afford a digital camera that I prefer to use than any camera phone, and that I have a pc at home and a laptop that I prefer to use for my pc projects. A person who does not have the same amenities that I have would probably disagree with the qualities that I find more important in a phone, because obviously they need a phone that offers more features because they lack the better quality standalone devices.
The iphone is not ideal for every body, but if what it offers suits your needs and lifestyle, it's the best phone that there is.

iphone is useless , for the price this phone should cook ,wash my clothes and clean my room.cannot be compare to any phone cause is so weak .
All white 16gb the speaks go away after few times .
And in portugal we have to send him to america to repare.

HTC Touch HD even has HSDPA @ 7.2mbps, thats DOUBLE the speed the iPhone can do, poor Apply fannys their precious iPhone has been surpassed SO EASILY too.
HTC Touch HD: please try not to drool TOO much when reading that spec list:

Long live the i-phone PLEASE!!! Come on. The i-phone is not all that, yeah great features, but their are now phone that are much better, The Omnia, HTC Touch range etc, Even The N96. the only reason people like the i-phone is the name and the name only.
And before anyone slates me i WORK FOR O2!!!! And hate all the training and ''buzz'' around it, plus the tarrifs and price of the thing way over board

IN iphonw why is there no option of bluetooth sending that is the mail fault it has got so plz find out if there is software for Bluetooth use and sending songs from it.

I've already upgraded to 2.1. I was hoping it would fix the lag when you open contacts, but there still a 2 second lag before you can scroll or search. Still, it's alright. 2 seconds is tolerable. The main improvements that I saw was with the batt life. It's much better, though it could still need some more improvements, but I guess the batt drains fast also because I just can't seem to stop using the phone, lol. The 3g signal has also improved, although I never really had problems with its 3g signal here in LA. As for dropped calls, I could not comment on that because I never had that problem with my iphone. Synching/Back-up time has also dramatically improved, as well as loading and installing apps. I can say that the upgrade did contribute improvements.

I thought the upgrade would fix the lag problem with the Contacts. I only have 100+ contacts and there's still a 2 second lag before you can start scrolling or searching. Still, 2 seconds is still tolerable. The noticeable improvement that I see are, better 3g reception, improved batt life, faster synching with itunes, and faster loading and installation of apps. I never had a problem with dropped calls, so I cannot comment on that one.

I wonder why in the Safari options you can turn Javascript on and off?
Unless the java support is java games, some of the games from the app store are hundreds of megabytes (Crash Kart Racing) how will you code that in java?
The votes are an interesting one, how can phones that have not even been released have a higher score than a phone that has been released?
A phone might be a dog, like the early N95's, problems with battery life, software issues, freezing, dropping calls, issues which were fixed later with updates, yet people still blindly vote for them without knowing this.
The rating system used here is useless.
The iPhone might have some omissions but it is still the best phone I have used, it suits the way I use a phone.
