yah your right dude...! its actually the N98.. aaawww....!
i love how people keep crying about how they don't like it...ur stupid to buy it if u didn't know all the specs and such
i run 3 businesses, using all iPhone's now. Can't be better i tell u. Switched from blackberry and am not looking back :D
If u look the pricing of ipods in India and compare it with those in the US, there is not much price difference. eg. iPod shuffle costs $74 = 3250 in the USA (from apple.com) including taxes and shipping charges and in India it costs 3750. So I do not understand what special taxing is being done by the govt. in India that will increase a $199 phone to $700. This is a very old apple trick. They launched the iphone at $500 in the USA, and got the rich and famous to buy it and then slashed the prices once they got the money of the riches. Then by slashing the price they targeted the not-so-rich (the bigger market) and then compensated the ones who paid more by giving them Apple gift vouchers so that they buy something else again from apple for that amount by spending more money in buying something that they don’t even need.
I expect in India in the next six months, the prices will be slashed along with some bundled plans with Airtel or Vodafone (Postpaid plans with monthly rental of at least 1000) with 2 year-3 year contract. They will ensure u go for ECS or post-dates cheques to ensure u don’t cancel it later. This will happen eventually and then more people will buy and apple continues to be richer and richer… and then will come APPLE 3G V2.0 with stereo bluetooth support, video recording, copy/paste, 3.2-5 mp camera, sms forwarding and MMS and more that are currently missing…
Those features are missing because it was deliberate. I am founds 100s of users in USA who bought iphone 1st gen and then the 3g also when it cam out. Apple has left a lot of scope for improvement so that they get repeat buyers. If all the features are provided now, what will remain to improve that will appeal to the public to buy the new version… Think again.
Please note the following before buying:
1> Only 2 mp camera
2> No Autofocus and No Flash
3> No Bluetooth file transfer to other bluetooth devices
4> No support for Stereo bluetooth headset (A2DP is not supported)
5> No support for 3rd party applications
6> No Flash or Java supported by the browser
7> Internet 8GB/16GB HDD cannot be used as a HDD to store personal data
8> Song/Videos can be transferred to the phone only using iTunes and cannot be transferred back.
9> No Support for MMS
10> Does not support Instant messaging clients like yahoo messenger/ Google Talk!
11> Unable to Forward SMS
12> No Copy/Paste feature
13> No option of transferring contacts list from Phone to SimCard
14> Batteries are not user replaceable
15> No Video Recording
16> Very difficult to type SMS fast with the TouchScreen keypad
17> 3G Not in India at least till Oct-2009
18> No support for Memory Cards/External Storage
19> You are stuck with the Service Provider as the phone is locked for ever to the service provider from whom you buy.
20> A class action lawsuit already in USA for poor reception and connectivity where 3G already exists. By the time u get to try 3G in India, ur phone will already be out-of-warranty
21> Needs Activation thru iTunes everytime Sim Card is changed (of-course same service provider)
22> No memos
23> No Voice Dialing
24> No Video Output to TV (iPod has this feature)
25> Screen catches lot of fingerprint - Needs wiping before u watch a movie
16> GPS Maps will only show ur location and will not provide you turn by turn navgation to an area.
I have a 6000 rupees Nokia which can do all of this. Do u still want iPhone?
It's a great phone if your uses are limited to basic calling and Ipod features.
It's inadequate if you need repeat itineraries, like inspections, meetings, hearings, etc. that need to be posted on the fly since it doesn't have copy/paste functions. Nor is it good if you need to forward quick mms pics for site evaluations (emailing attachments is really a suck if you have to do that regularly).
So it is useful depending on your needs. At the moment, it doesn't meet my needs since IT IS NOT A BUSINESS PHONE. Nokia and Samsung are far better business phones right now.
They have banned the 3g i-phone advert in uk because its internet experiance is not true because it des not support all features for a true web browsing ie flsh,,jave
i am using i phone this phone is nightmarrrrrrrrrrrrrre if you think iphone is best in a market i did't think so its a hell if you have apps in your phone lot of times it don't work once it hang then ipod don't work way to fix you have to restore iphone and it take forever think about it before you buy exept this lot of another problem ........................................................................................think .................about
dont u guys know???
nokia is gone a build a gr8 touchphone and it is sure that it will be much better than iphone 3g and it will be the best.

and my E51 is frickin COVERD with dust under the screen from just putting it like on the desk and in the pocket. Don't believe me? ill email u a video on me attempting to clean it just to show u how much dirt gets under its crap display.
I work for Telstra in Aus this is a poor effort from Apple. I have seen 3 iphones out of 10 I have sold come back faulty/frozen and had to be replaced. After hands on experience I wouldnt touch this phone. For and Apple this really has pathetic storage space and the lack of 3G video calling sucks. Myself am looking forward to the X1 with superior resolution and push e-mail. Avoid the iphone if you dont want a headache.

Vicky, 29 Aug 2008Friends i eagerly want to buy the iphone 3g but i m confused by the following negaive points i... moreHi in reply to your questions. Iphone 3g can send sms and you can connect to a bluetooth headset. It can't send mms or take video's though. It could of done with a better camera(only 2mp) and there is no flash. But i am not atleast bit put off by this, no phone is perfect! This is in my opinion the best phone by far! Nothing evens comes close to be honest. No other touch screen phone works as perfect as the iphone 3g. The internet browser is first class! GPS is also a nice feature. As well as being the best mp3 player with the ipod function another great thing is the App store. This is were you can download thousands and thousands of free applications such as games etc. Don't listen to all the negative comments coming from people who don't even have the phone!

Are you jokin that nokia doesn't surpass the iphone? nokia n-series and e-series have wonderful displays also. The screens are also bright (same as iphone)even though they are smaller than the iphone. Some of the smartphones or pocket pc's I own are n93i, n95 classic, an IPHONE. The n93i (it looks like a cam corder)(have you seen one yet?) takes pictures and records video dvd like quality...same with the n95. With that said, the only way the iphone will surpass the nokia n-series and also samsung phones is upgrading the camera and adding a powerful led flash or a xenon flash and also adding the missing features that were mentioned already. So, if you do the math for the iphone.... missing features + an upgrade camera with a powerful flash + a large touchscreen = one powerhouse device.
