ED, 02 Aug 2008should be on pay as you goThe reason it is on contract is because you need data plans in order to use internet (It's main purpose besides being a phone) or you bill would be hundreds of dollars. Most networks don't have data plans on pre paid and until they do, most likely won't sell you this phone pre paid

I am completly satisfied with the iPhone 3g, ive had it for 3 weeks now and i absolutly love it.
It's features are great, the touch function is great and works so easily.
I use mine for everything, calling, internet, ipod/music, watch videos, youtube, emailing everything that it can do, i use.
Im happy with the battery life and its a unique device to use. It fits great in my jeans pocket, its thin, i have a clear plastic cover on mine and that doesnt even make it chunky.
My only thing i didnt like is that it doesnt accept or send mms meassages but thats no big deal when i really think about it, how often do i get mms messages sent to me, so it wasnt no big loss to me in a mobile, and besides you can email ur pictures and in time there will be a program u can install onto it to make it work.
I also love the APP store, ive bought a couple of games and installed some free apps, like facebook and myspace and they work great, its great also having a huge screen.

even i went to the same shop in the mall of the emirates the asked for 8300 dhs.i think a person is stupid if he buys a iphone at that price.i hear that its much cheaper in abu dhabi 2000 -2500 dhs for the 16 gb

You all should not comment on this phone untill you have at least played with one. I have one, i work with phones, and have for the last two years, by far this is the easiest touch to use and easiest web browser, even compared to windows mob.
As far as the camera goes, its really not the magepixel count that matters, its the lense quality, and this phone takes an awesome photo, yeh bit disappointing there is no flash, but meh, buy a dedicated camera!
The APPS store is what makes it for me, best part of the phone,

People Should stop comparing N95, please stop. N95 is not a iphone nor the iphone a N95. If you are a happy N95 guy then stick to it.
I cant say the Iphone 3G is the ultimate best. But for one it tried to get things right.
File sharing is not legal is Apple's policy so please try to understand not just bash the phone.
However, I like to point out that music that I own or movies that I have should be able to be involved in my ringtones rather than trying to have a market to sell the so called legal ringtones. If we own the songs regardless from Apple store we should be able to create what we want. Why can Nokia or Sony E doesnt have these legal issues if thats the case?
For Bluetooth, improve on sending contacts such as business cards which what other brands can be compatible to any brand as well. Sharing contacts has nothing to do with legal issues.
A Video recording is wished.
I am happy with the rest.
Battery life seems fine. Go Read HTC Diamond touch.
For those who want to try alternatives maybe the Sumsung looks to be great but is not cheap either.

1. U cannot replace the battery

*you can change the battery but you have to send it to apple.
*the battery life is only 5 hours when browsing
and their isnt a huge demand for flash and anything over 2mp. so it would be a waste on apples behalf.
im not defending apple though, they could have done alot more with this phone, i just wanted to show you how little you actualy know.

Why no review of the iphone yet?. Poor overall features maybe apart from browsing and screen.

hey guys stop arguing...the iphone 3G may lack some of the most basic features but for that sacrifice u get amazing web browsing, the best interface (mac...duh)...so its a decision u just have to make

Both phones, LG Prada and iPhone where anounced on Jan 2007! Now who did copy who? I had Prada myself and got sick with it after 2 weeks. The touch screen sucks (you have to touch so many blody times to make it work) and the touch screen sucks on must phones anyway. iPhone was the first to come up with a new multi-touc tecnlology. Currently i have no iPhone, but planning to buy one. I have ipod touch though. Had it for nearly a year and i love it. I don't hate other brands, love many of them. But you have to give a credit to Apple for what they are doing.
