I got the Iphone last Friday, from Optus, and I have had nothing but troubles with it. Everytime I use the keyboard it types in the wrong letters and the functions on it are quite poor. Don't get me started on the bluetooh and also the camera.
I have taken it back to Optus to cancel my contract, and they said "Due to the contract with Apple, I was unable to return it!" I have contacted the ombudsman from Optus as well and he basically told me that I am stuck with the handset for the remainder of the contract.
So, now I am stuck with a poor quality handset. I am going back to my 6120 which is a far better than this, and Optus have lost a valued customer in myself.
P.S: Anyone wanna buy an Iphone locked to Optus?

Victoria, 13 Jul 2008also can anyone please tell me what the battery life is like? and what is the screen visibilit... moreVictoria,
i wouldnt be able to answer ALL of your questions because my time with this phone is still limited (for now). BUT, you CAN download msn messenger for it. As far as i know, you must jailbreak the iphone inorder to install more customized applications. (correct me if im wrong)
Facebook and Youtube are officially supported by the Iphone 3G, and Facebook has also launched a real application on the iTunes Store :)
As for the battery, it really depends on the usage. Whether you have the wifi turned on, video playing, mp3 player. But you should get a days worth of usage out of it with no problem.
Screen Visibility: cant help you there, sorry.
and finally, Syncing: Can be done of course :) But its through iTunes, and you can sync anything from pics, video, contacts, etc..
Enjoy :)
also can anyone please tell me what the battery life is like? and what is the screen visibility in direct sunlight?
and can you syncronise/import video clips from your computer and into iphone?
can anyone please-please-please tell me if you can download msn messenger onto this phone and also facebook and youtube?????
please answer anyone who knows, i need to decide whether to get this iphone or to wait for omnia
help! help! help!

guess, lot of negative feedback is from bitter frustrated people who can't afford the phone and have never had the experience.i have gone through over 20 phones and feel that apple has set a standard and is way ahead.i guess alot of apple haters and bashers are feeding back.frustrated lot.
dont waste ur time by postin comments, u obviosly love it or u wouldnt be on this page :-p
i really dunno why many people here are in line to buying this crappy phone! apple just rip your pocket off! 2M camera is just funny! No flash, No video recoding, no replaceable battery! no no no!!! limited functionality @ all
Whatever your comments and opinions, good or bad but the fact still remains that iphone made history. It had become a barometer to other brands. If the iphone doesn't conform to your liking, it doesn't mean that it's not good. It's just that, it has its own standard and good at that.
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2008Since the iPhone came, we have haters and lovers and people who do not have an idea but buy it... moreTotally agree with you bro...i also own a f480...wich by the way is the best mobile i've ever had(even better than those crappy nokias like N95 wich at the moment you install a program it gets slow as hell) I was in a big dilema between choosing the iphone 3g or the samsung omnia but i'm going for the omnia cuz i already own an ipod touch with 2.0 firmware installed..and by the way it does everything an iphone do exept of calling and sending sms...
