Arrived in Australia today and played with it for a while, bit behind the times now and would have been good in the 90's.Very dissappointed with all the hype about it.
the iphone is really really undescribably painstakingly gash , i would not buy this phone if my life depended on it , why would you want a phone that does absolutly nothing not even the simplest things that a bog standard cheap handset would do , if it were up to me whoever decided to charge the amount of money for something as good as the nokia 1208 should be stopped
CHEAP TRICK !... I got to the O2 store at 815.. they had sold out... are they so desperate to be able to say demand has outstripped demand that they make sure they sell out in 13 mins!
Apple should give their customers what they want a bit more rather than concentrating on hype.... its put me off... bye bye Apple !
This fone would have been top dog,,,,,,in 2002 !!....Specs are poor at best for a 2008 supposed superfone
as someone that has worked on the 3G iphone project i feel the handset is somewhat limited.
Has no MMS ability but an application is soon to be released.
its 2MB cam is slow and has no zoom feature (optical/digital) has no flash or video recording.
Its customization is very limited with only the ability to change the background that only appears when you unlock the screen. (not the home screen) you cant use mp3's etc as ringtones unless you make your own in garage.
Otherwise the interface is smooth and responsive and very userfriendly.
this phone is over-rated.
all i will say is why have a 3g phone on o2 with the worst 3g coverage in the country why go out and get a phone that you cant youse all the features on
my sister has got one this morning and it is so slow
WE found the battery no where near specified times but in past people would say carry a second battery,,YOU CANT !!!
Why bluetooth is at the lowest usuable level in the history of bluetooth is absolutly beyond us lot,,and most phones these days d/load mp3 over a gprs connection at least,, never mind not at all its only via wi-fi on i-phone..
Iwould like to go on about mms and camera etc but whats the point.. all the build up again for this and all we got is a 3g original i-phone ....
WE all think its lowered the exclusivity in plastic and could not reccomend it over original i-phone,,,not that that got much reccomendation...For crying out loud if you have got that money there are so many phones better than this and have the basic requirment of a mobile today such as auto-focus and mms,,,why not buy a second hand p990i it will outdo this for only £80 ,,,ok a bad choice but you know wat i mean..
Steve Jobs does good at hype ,,full marks for him but its the product thats bad at basic things it could be an absolute winner and sell millions more but at this level of spec its just not good
I already have IPhone 2G 8G for more than 5 months
1. Size and its screen for me is great. you can see even in sun
2. its function is good and very fast.
3. its application;preinstalled
4. Main function you have to connect to Internet
5. But you can not surf the arab websites
and also arabic sms
6. actually it is not my main phone but I am using as database mainly.
7. I like it
cmon apple geeks u were able to used touch tech but didnt include the auto focus/zoom features..
today was crazy with the release in store of the phone.
after selling and demonstrating it to 100's of customers ive come to the conclusion its not all that. i mean dont get me wrong its a nice toy, but thats where it ends. i mean no itunes access over network pffff, restricted bluetooth, incredibly POOR speaker, have had multiple returns allready due to poor loudspeaker, you can barely hear anyone talking or music.
saying that all phones have there downsides and upsides. as does this unit. each to there own me personally i have a blackberry which does what i need but who am i to judge what a customer needs it for. im just suprised to see the return rate considering its "The product and the best quality as you so often hear"
peace out, and sympathy to all the telco staff who are still working the long hours, im upto 15 in a row and still counting
Well... I am wondering what quality more can we expect with the 2.0 MP camera and it is a phone camera. God! The quality even 4-5 times the 2.0 build in O2 Xda Atom. With the features it gives and the price offer, I am wondering to choose others rather than this one. I mean at least for this moment, the technology today, this do it all!
It has great features, I have already studied its specs, and its accelometer is simply one of a kind, yes it is true that for such a phone waited for this long, it only has a 2 MP Camera with no FLASH and ZOOm feature, and at the same time its BLUETOOTH function is only for headset, (NOT FOR TRANSFERRING DATA), and it has no MMs too. Well, it is still a good phone though, but we will see how will things go, once it is already out
Tigos, 11 Jul 2008The iPhone really is one of the best phone out there...I have a ROKR E6 and it has a 2 MP came... moreIt it about fashion, technolgy and up-to-date features, not because of wanting to take good pictures. Carrying a high end cell phone with a 2mp camera is just a shame.
Yes, I agree with you 100%. By monday, the Apple stock will lose at lease 15% of it's value because the sales will be meet expectation.
Its ridiculous, you can't even access the iTunes store off the mobile network anyway, you need a wi-fi hotspot to do it. Why the hell would anyone want to bother with this overrated phone when theres better options out there! Look at the Diamond ffs, every stat it has is bigger and better, and also has the online music store feature built in! And you can access that directly off the mobile network. People are going to quickly see how crap this phone is and its reputation will be shot to pieces within weeks.
Well I work in a mobile store and I've had training for the phone as well and it's all just one big hype for a piece of crap. My phone also plays music and has a camera and I can get onto the internet with it. We've been playing with it all day and have already had to charge it twice.
My opinion. Stay away from it.
This is a gadget, not a phone. It would be have made a great PDA in the 90s....
But for a business person, the Iphone is terrible. Typing on screen is not easy. There's no option to connect a bluetooth keyboard. Battery life is not as advertised, and on top of that there's no way to carry an extra battery.
It's heavy, it's fragile, in short...
it's ALL SHOW AND NO GO
