I too hate phones with low earpiece volume. A word of advice on HTC; which I have.
The earpiece volume is great but the reception sucks - HTC TyTN II on Rogers in Canada. Be sure to test reception in a couple places on whatever network you are on to be sure you're happy.

Has the sound quality and volume been improved? The volume on the "original" iPhone is so low that you miss more phone calls than you hear!
If it is not at least as loud as Blackberry, Treo, Motorola, etc. forget about it...I will wait for the new Blackberry Bold or the HTC Diamond!

ppl shouldnt get dishearted by the number of mp on the camera, i have an iphone and the camera is super smart in detecting all kinds of environment, pictures actually look a lot better than my brothers N95.

Its mayb 3g but its useless bekoz of d 2mega pixel, nokia has better than apple, and am sure apple has better than this but its business my friends,next year am sure apple will announce something better than this one...Its all business for them and nothing else...

Don't know if this has been asked already, but if i am on a 3 year contract (currently 2 years left), would I be able to purchase the iphone with the sub. price?
i will be purchasing from the same company that is releasing the iphone in canada that i am currently under contract with (rogers). I think someone said something about them adding a year to whatever you have left, but not sure if that applies for Canada, just the US or is that was false information altogether.

hi pls help me on this one
when fowarding email i typed a wrong email add and now it is there in my history. for eg i typed the wrong email add starting from a, and now whenever i am fowding a new email and i type a, that email add also comes up does anyone knows how to delete it i am using an unlocked iphone and i have tried deleting cahce, cookies etc no luck pls help. thanks.

i thought iphone was cool.
but 2 megapixels, no secondary camera, and suckish looks.
very disappointing.
by the way apple, SE released 8 meagapixels.

It wil... moreYou know, when I read the original question—which has been answered again and again—it seems the writer is not using American English. Or, maybe just a poor education. If not in the US: the AT&T spiel was a bit worthless. And with regards to the impossible: Seems somebody has not been keeping up with the news. The iPhone 3G is slated to be released in various countries unlocked. New flash people: Many countries don't have a contract mentality. They use a prepaid system or pay-as-you-go system.

It will probably be free on some sort of plan in Aus either with Voda or Optus. I work for Voda, and there is no release of pricing plans yet. They will probably be out in another week or two.
In regards to colour, no it won't come out in pink. It will be in black (8/16GB) and white (16GB). You can however buy pink, blue, gold etc iPhones from some fashion phone outlets, but they are only the older gen iPhone at the moment.

So, I was wondering: You had no idea about these deficiencies before you bought it? I knew exactly what I was getting before my purchase; I'm funny that way; I'm still happy. You actually recommend people choose Windows Mobile over the Apple OS experience? I hope you are there to tech support those folks. Just because it says SE or Samsung on the label will not prevent the disaster that will ensue from a Windows product.

Yes and no. It will cost you and extra USD200 only if you take the one or two years subscription contract with the mobile operator, partner with Apple. Like AT&T is the US.
If you want to buy the iPhone without any subscription, thats impossible, its not for sale to the general market.

My advice, if you want the multi-touch, get an iPod Touch and either the SE Xperia or Samsung i900...

Hey Steve! I bought the 2G iPhone and it SUCKS! Sure enough, the UI is great but there are so many features missing that it's scary.
Give me freakin' MMS already! It's a tiny feature that you could have implemented ffs.
And what the heck is up with a 2 MP fixed focus camera when SonyE is releasing 8 Mpixel!?
Where is my stereo bluetooth support?
Why can't I send contacts from the phonebook?
Where is my video recording support?
Why can't I use any MP3 as ring signal?
Aaargh, I feel totally ripped off. Never Apple again.
