I'm feeling let down. Like shaun said they should have put a better camera, including one for video calls. i love tho mac OS but... the camera is the one main letdown. It would be good to have the mac OS on that other samsung phone. I had a look at it, and it is the iphone with extra stuff. But i am a mac person and it has windows OS. Ohh well I'm hoping they bring out an iPhone III with all the other goodies on it soon.

I'm confused: How is having a 3G Nokia, which is obviously much more expensive when purchased unlocked, going to be any cheaper to use on a carrier in the US? And, what US carrier sells or supports it?

Dissapointed! I thought Apple will build in video call feature, but is not.

Apple is good of making profit & money out from its products.
1st iphone without 3G,
2nd iphone with 3G (but without video call features)
3rd iphone (future - 3G with video call features).
Just imagine how much Apple had made. I suggest don't buy this coming 3G iphone (without video call features).

Still its a stupid phone bluetooth still on headset support and no front camera for video calls still no MMS support and still a mediocre camera with no flash too expensive! too dumb! why dont they put all the nice goodies like at least a 3.2 camera with at least led flash then a front camera for video calls and MMS support then a bluetooth pairing to other phones for sure they'l beat nokia and SE

the iphone gen 2 will cost 199$ with a new contract which means you have to pay 30 a month for the 3g iphone plus the iphone minutes which is about a 100 and so that is about 330 or so for an iphone from the store but if you buy it unlocked it will cost 1200(according to gsmarena)

If the live video calling will work with the camera on the back this means you can't see the other person even though they can see you live.
Solution. You are on a live video call and the back of the phone with the camera is facing you. Lets say you are holding it with your left hand.
Pull a mirror out of your pocket and let it face the front of the iphone !
There, now you can see the person you are talking to!
That what kind of a joke this phone is. 3g with no front camera!

does anybody know why apple isn't releasing the new iphone in many parts of the world? we have got the 1st gem iPhones here without warranty, for $600(8gigs), and after reading the article about the new iPhone 3g being over $1200, seems like we're never going to get it.

Agreed, stop complaining about the camera, it's a PHONE! Many popular phones only have a 2mp camera anyway. CLearly it's too much effort for Apple to put a 5mp one in.
The real thing to complain about is no MMS or proper Bluetooth, that's the real problem with this phone.
Doesn't surprise me they failed at computers now they failed at phones.
