in order to change the name to your name,connect the phone to your computer using itunes and you will be able to change it in itunes

can anyone help me out there? i just bought my iPhone 3gs and i want to know how to activate it at home. im gonna use a sim carrier available here in libya (without contract). i just want to know about the activation only mode, is it the same way in itunes version 9 as offered in the net? if not, can i just activate it the way itunes offers it without upgrading the phone coz they said it may unlock the phone..thanks!!!

In sidebar of itune, you can see your iphone name, or in your case someone's name with a small iphone icon next to it.
Click on that name once to select, click once again to rename it to your name. Simple. Hope this help :)
