K, 10 Dec 2009As you might see from my previous posts I aint an iPhone basher, im actually very pro iPhone e... moreI respect your opinion K, but I have to say that advertising isn't the imopetus for the iPhones huge sales. Never before has a phone so seemlesly integrated office functions and internet fetaures like the iPhone has. Example; I go to meet a client and enter their addrtess into the phone book (which wirelessly synchs with my mobile me). I Have the London tube map on the iphone so get to the destination easily. I have google maps so can find the clients office easily and what's more I have the google street level that shows me that my clients office is right next to a grocery store about 100 yards up from the station. So the phone almost makes me feel as though I have been to my prospective client already and takes the stress out of going to meetings. Another client calls me to rearrange an appointment, I put them on loud speaking and re-schedule the appointment which updates my desktop over the cloud... It is impressive. Occassionally the iPhone drops calls, but that's my only gripe.
the nokia s60 smartphone can run more than 1 application at a time, can iphone do that?
if this multitask iphone cant do, so what the diferen iphone OS n nokia s40? so iphone is the only basic phone that iphone lover call it smartphone, what a shame
iphone should be awarded best BASIC smartphone
Anonymous, 10 Dec 2009If you find me repetitive and tiring, I also find the same posts from iphone haters repetitive... moreI am not bashing the iphone outright, it is a nice phone, it works and that is why I got it. I live with the inconveniences just fine. I just put in my 2 cents to say that it is not perfect or flawless like many other products in this world; in short,… it’s not the best thing since sliced bread like so many claim. So lighten up! As far as sound goes I do not care what any study says, I judge by what I hear with my equipment in my ears! My earphone buds have a very wide range and maybe the iphone cannot reach some of them with certain types of music with PRESET EQ settings. Just give me a customable EQ and I am happy. You may like Pepsi but I like Coca Cola! As for FM where do you get off saying that wanting my local news is lame! You have a lot of nerve, and why would I use data at a cost to listen to local radio on the internet! That is not smart now is it? In addition, who is to judge where the best news is? That is personal taste and you should respect other people’s tastes, they should not be up for discussion, learn to agree to disagree. As far as the phone call quality, Rogers cannot figure it out for all three of us that have the same issue. They send us to Apple, they do not know either, and they send us back to the carrier. So they keep throwing the ball back and forth. And Dude; get a life you obviously need one.
for the zzzzillion time , iphone run on basic n simple OS, it is not bcos the phone fast. u can go n try any other phone that run on basic n simple OS, they r far cheaper n faster than expensive less feature iphone
the only phone that comes close is the htc hero. Nokia is the new IBM the N97 is a missed opportunity
yesterday i had taken 3gs iphone, with it had a good experiance.previously iused htc hero, compare to this 3gs so great in sence clarity of voice ,speed, smooth touch.
but anybody can answer me why youtube not working (india).no flash support, noflash player
As you might see from my previous posts I aint an iPhone basher, im actually very pro iPhone even though I dont own one. But I do have to agree that Apple have used some excellent advertising techniques, and it has been heavily advertised, hence its popularity. Brands like HTC and Samsung dont advertise their products as heavily as Apple do, hence less sales of their phones. Also when you see one person with an iPhone who says its cool, others will go out and get one, its like a chain reaction. So I have to say one of the fundamental reasons for iPhones popularity stems from its excessive advertising. But its a good phone as well, so I wont take that away.
IF a person hates and bashes iphone, only these things comes to my mind: he cant afford it, he never even used it for 1 day. and he keeps complaining about iphone. Dont hate the phone. hate urself pls.

Just because it says 5 megapixel doesn't mean it delivers decent pictures.

However, HTC is making a mark, and devices like its HTC HD2 can make iphone users rethink their next purchase. There is so much more flexibility and options to creating different homescreens and themes with the HD2. Not to mention the incredible 5 mpx camera and 480x800 screen resolution. Could be a toss up here as which device is better.

Please read the iphone review. The iphone's audio reproduction is the closest thing to perfection as it can get. And not amount of tweaking on any other devices can beat it.
Anonymous, 10 Dec 2009I do agree with you to an extent. The I-Phone 3 GS is the best out there when it comes to the ... moreOh well, to each his own. But know that smartphones are not ideal for photography, and mostly not ideal for watching movies. Personally, I refuse to watch any movie on any phone. I didn't buy my 55 inch LED HDTV 1080P so I can watch movie or tv shows on a phone. That's just ridiculous. A smartphone is ideally used to make phone calls, do some quick browsing on the web, check emails, some games, music with headsets and sms. Anyone who buys a smartphone mainly to use as a camera or a tv set is insane.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I do agree with you to an extent. The I-Phone 3 GS is the best out there when it comes to the touch screen factor and applications. Any comparison with other phones, in these areas, will only be an affront to the I-Phone 3 GS. However when it comes to music(after adjusting the "db"), photography and watching videos, Samsung I 8910 HD will wallop all others, hands down. I do own these two beauties. In fact I owned all the Nokia N series phones, bar N 97 & N 900. I even had E- 71 & 72, Sony Ericson Xperia & htc touch. With all due respects to Nokia & Sony Ericson, they have to revamp & regroup to regain their past glory. As it is, in my humble opinion, I-Phone and Samsung (selected models) are the best out there, at present. It is only my opinion and there is absolutely no need for any to go into an overdrive. It took good pictures, but not as good as digital cameras do. It does not even have a xenon flash. Hey, if you are a person who is picky with picture quality, you will not mind to bring with you a heavy and bulky dslr camera wherever you go. Now, if you only want to take pictures just for fun, even the iphone is enough. Go to flicker and facebook. Most of the uploaded photos there are taken from iphones. Want me to refer you to an article that states that the iphone is the phone that uploads most photos on social networks. They look just fine for that purpose.
Mitch, 10 Dec 2009After reading posts from you on this site I do not know why I am responding to this, but then,... moreIf you find me repetitive and tiring, I also find the same posts from iphone haters repetitive and tiring, but you guys keep on coming back. And why do you need my name? You obviously know me from my location id. What next? My driver's license? lol. Signal issues are on the carrier side, not the iphone. The iphone has the best audio reproduction according to tests conducted for that purpose, and not by anyone's biased unsupported opinion like yours. If you know how to organize your icons on your iphone, then why are you complaining. You have 16 apps on one page. That is already a lot. How many widgets or apps can an htc hd have on
one screen? That clock icon is an application icon for timer, alarm, world clock and stop watch. The time is always on the top of the screen. As for the weather app icon, it's practical for battery power to just tap the weather app if you want to know the temperature, rather than have the weather always active. It does not make sense. Your excuse for fm is lame. You get better news on the internet than on fm radio. You have more control on what news you want to know about on the internet, while on the radio, your stuck with whatever they have to say and you have to wait whenever they do a newscast. It's more instantaneous to just go to the web and get the news you want.
Mitch, 10 Dec 2009After reading posts from you on this site I do not know why I am responding to this, but then,... moreWell if music is as important as you say why didn't you get the best?
As can be seen in the graph the iPhone 3GS offers superior sound quality over the HD2, the results of the tests also show the HD2 having higher levels of distortion.
Widgets that show weather are often not very up to date, you will get a far more accurate temperature from observations recorded at meteorology sites in your browser.
Did you know you can organize the order of Apps in iTunes and you can fill all eleven screens and still add more Apps which can be accessed by typing the first few letters in spotlight?
I get all my local stations live via Internet radio including the AM ones as well as police scanners by opening the links in Safari you can have them running in the background while doing other things.
WinMo is a dying platform, manufacturers are dumping it and there are only a few enthuisiasts left it reminds me of Amiga computers in the nineties.
How's the pink tinge on the camera?
HTC are reknowned for very poor image quality of their camera's in fact no serious camera phones use WinMo it's a flaw that is often hidden by the poor quality 16 bit screen.
Mitch, 10 Dec 2009After reading posts from you on this site I do not know why I am responding to this, but then,... moreI'm being repetitive because I read the same nonsense over and over again. It's funny that you only notice my redundancy and not the iphone haters'. I remain nameless because my name is insignificant. You've obviously identified me easily by my encoded location, so why would my name matter so much?! I don't think that others are being naive. They simply make up stories and lies just to put down the iphone. As far as talk interruptions are concerned, that is more on the carrier side than the iphone. I'm in the US, so I cannot speak for carriers other than AT&T. Your personal taste will not count compared to legitimate tests conducted for music reproduction is concerned. I've had the diamond before the iphone, and it does not come close to the iphone audio quality, and I'm sure that the htc hd will not make a big difference either. As I have said, you can arrange the icons on your iphone to your preference. You can put all your frequently used apps on the 1st page, then the 2nd, and so on and so forth. You can move all native apps that you will never use to the very last page. On any device, you cannot delete native apps, only those that you have added. The clock icon is not for showing the current time, it's basically an icon for alarm, timer, world clock and stop watch. The time is always shown on the top of your screen. You don't need to be redundant by showing the time on the top of the screen and another time that shows the same time on the clock icon. That's a waste of energy. For something like the temperature, it's energy practical if you just tap the weather icon when you need to know the temp. No one needs to know the temp every 5 minutes. If you do, you are one of a kind. As for local news, the iphone has internet. You do not need fm to get news. News on fm limits you to only what they newscast, while if you go to the internet like yahoo, you have more control on which news you want to know about. Your excuse for fm radio is lame. You can have news anytime on the internet, while on fm, you'll have to wait till they do a newscast. Not smart.
