Interesting opinions, however, 256MB of RAM, 600MHz CPU and great applications make this phone a very good phone. I had all 2g, 3g and now 3gs. iTunes is just transferring everything from one to another. I am using 3 carriers and I have 4 phones always(2 personal and 2 for the job). I am changing a phone each 2 months. The ones I stick with is Iphone for multimedia the other one is nokia E66 still ok for business. Who is not happy with this phone one advice here:for camera get a DSLR, the rest the Iphone 3GS will take care of.
Wow the iPhone does create some heated debates!! ha ha
Seriously, I still cannot understand why some people continue to try and bash this phone here! Ok you 1) either like it and own one, 2) you either like it but dont own one so try and justify it by bashing it, or 3) you just dont like the phone and prefer another phone - in this case bashing it makes you look like number 2). Last case scenario is 4) You have the phone but dont like it, these are the people whose critical opinions I appreciate the most.
I dont have the iPhone as its personally not for me. I could have got one but I prefer another phone. However I wont bash this phone cos 1) its a brilliant phone and 2) its not a phone I have had too much time with for me to bash it. Nuff said!
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Pepsi don't even know why Coke's number one.
I like using the full version of Microsoft Office 2007 on my iPhone along with almost any Windows software you can think of:-
LPT, 1990, 25 pins: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LPT
iPhone, 2010, 30 pins: http://www.allpinouts.org/index.php/Apple_iPod_-_iPhone_dock
How RIDICULOUS is THAT!?!?!?!

Couldn't the same be said for all those applications you just mentioned? Because they're easily accessible through computer just as well.
That's what I thought... good job on humiliating yourself.
Yeah, itunes is free...
Too bad most computers don't have it making your bluetoothless iphone an useless mp3 player with a useless 32gb storage.
So yeah, carry the KIT! itues cd + iphone 20-pin cable http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LPT just like in the 90s!

HD = 720p
iPhone = 480p
iPhone = no flash support + video conversion with loss of quality.
And if you have a phone in 2010 that doesn't have videocall it's because you're poor and can't afford one!
No go and pay your 50$ AT&T bill for the next 2 years.

The free ones are mo... moreAgain, it's really annoying to read silly comments from people who know so little about the iphone. Most of my apps a free, and they are very useful. To name a few of free apps that are useful, here's the following:
1. Truveo - HD video quality of YouTube videos.
2. WeDict - awesome dictionary app. It includes thesaurus, and even provides audio for proper pronunciation.
3. DirecTv - let's you check TV schedules, and, let's you record your TV shows to your dvr remotely.
5. Google Earth
6. Epocrates - an app that shows drug information
7. PS mobile - photoshop for the iphone
8. Flash for iphone - brightens photos taken in dark conditions
9. Ffx - adds effects on pictures taken
10. Midomi - ID's songs
11. Barcode - let's you save all your discount cards in your iphone
12. Balance - let's you keep track of your expenses in a simple way
13. Yahoo Messenger
15. Wikiamo - wikipedia designed for the iphone
and there are more. And they're all free. Don't make a comment on things you know so little about. It makes you look really silly.

Video calling is the most uncommon and unused feature ever, all over the world. Video calling is common in the US on desktop computers, and it's the same with other countries. Companies would use computers for video calling, not smartphones. You like to video call your other half from another country? Use a desktop computer, don't be cheap. Local video call quality is poor, how much more video calling internationally. Video calling on cell phones does not even come close to desktop computers. It's not dependable, slow, erratic, low quality, etc. Proper video calling is via desktop computer. We here in the US can afford proper video calling devices, such as a real computer. We won't settle for low quality alternatives like cellphones, lol. Sorry but no cell phone can cut it on video calling. Unless of course you're a cheapo :)

Without the apps the iPhone is nothing special.

You can't, it's a number so small it's not worth measuring.

The US is quite behind when it comes to video calling. The Japanese use it as much as we text and the Europeans use it often for business/office meetings. I actually prefer video calling as I'm away from home alot and nothing beats talking to my other half "face to face". SO to some people its very important. In the end it's a matter of life style that determines the phone a person chooses and to many the iphone just doesn't cut it.
is there an apple tech support we can call to activate the arabic font on it, instead of downloading it yourself?

You don't need to buy anything from itunes when you have the iphone. Itunes makes it easier for iphone users to have a centralized multimedia interface for their iphones. It makes our lives easier and more convenient. You're obviously clueless.
